Memento
I just saw this movie for the first time today and thought it was amazing. Has anyone else seen it, and if so what are your thoughts on it?

Good movie. I loved the way it went in reverse, but it did get on my nerves after hearing the guy explain his condition for the 50th time.

I thought the reverse thing was just a little confusing myself, but the ending was the best part to me.
On the other hand, hearing the name 'Sammy Jankis' over and over can get aggaravating.
It's about a man who witnessed his wife's rape and murder. After being injured during that incident, he loses his short term memory. The movie moves backwards as we find out more and more about what happened the night that the main character loses his memory.

here is a reference if
needed
.
Yeah, the movie is pretty good, the style it goes back is cool; I wish they do more of this style in the future.

I think this was the best movie of the year. Revolutionary and beautifully written.

Oooh! I just read online that in the UK version of the DVD, there is an easter egg that allows you to watch the movie in chronological order!

Actually I heard that there is a Canadian version which also has this Easter Egg, but it only allows you to play about 5 chapters in the "correct" order.

It wouldn't be the same movie in chronological order.
But I must agree, it is the best film of 2001.

RE: Memento
It makes you think about a lot of things, especially our memory. This guy can't remember anything after it happened 15 mins. But what about the rest of us? Can we REALLY remember what happened ten years ago? without any record? I mean remember correctly.
Once I went through my old dairy and I was surprised how much I forgot. I can hardly remember details without the dairy.
So in some point of view Memento is the story of our memory, the history, the meanless life. There is no different between Guy Pearce's tatoo and my old dairy. What do you think of human being's civilisaion? It is mean to remember things that happened and pass the memory on. Though the memory was twisted from the begining.

Great movie, eventhough I believe they have borrowed the idea from pulp fiction, I think the theme, and the way it is set up is way better.

The first thing I thought after seeing it, was what it would be like chronologically. My friends and I discussed and decided it would be awful. Because it is an awful movie, essentially, but backwards it's suspenseful. But I don't think it was the best movie of th year. The Royal Tenenbaums and LotR were better.
Amazing.
