Ayelet Zurer joins Howard's 'Da Vinci' prequel

Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer has nabbed the female lead opposite Tom Hanks in Columbia Pictures' "Da Vinci Code" prequel "Angels & Demons."
Ewan McGregor is in talks to join the thriller, which is based on the Dan Brown best-seller.
McGregor is set to take on the role of a powerful Vatican insider who assists Langdon.
Story centers on religious art scholar Robert Langdon (Hanks), who once again finds himself entangled with powerful forces with ancient roots: the Illuminati -- the most powerful underground organization in history -- and the Catholic Church. Zurer will play Vittoria Vetra, an Italian scientist who joins forces with Langdon.
Ron Howard is directing from an Akiva Goldsman script.
Zurer is best known in her native Israel, where she has starred in "Nina's Tragedies" and the TV series "In Treatment," which was recently adapted in the U.S. by HBO. Her U.S. film credits include "Munich" and Columbia's "Vantage Point." She will next be seen in the Samuel Goldwyn release "Fugitive Pieces."
Now that would be cool, cause i liked that book

Ewan McGregor Joins "Angels & Demons"

Ayelet Zurer was locked in yesterday as the female lead, now Ewan McGregor is in talks to play a key character in Sony Pictures "The Da Vinci Code" prequel "Angels and Demons" says the trades.
Based on the Dan Brown novel, "Angels" sees Hanks reprising his role as symbologist professor Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) who tries to solve a murder and unravel a plot by the most powerful underground organization in history, the Illuminati, to wipe out Vatican City in a massive explosion during a papal conclave.
McGregor will play Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca, also known as Janus, the late pope's closest aide who initially helps Langdon in the investigation. During a conclave (which can go for hours or days), the camerlengo is a young impartial priest who serves as the 'defacto pope' whilst the cardinals are locked in St. Peter's Basilica to decide the next Pope.
Akiva Goldsman adapted the book, Ron Howard will direct and shooting is set to begin in June in Europe before heading to Los Angeles.

What fantastic scans from Ewan's appearance on the Furguson show! dang - I missed it but hope it shows up on utube soon.
Just saw Deception today,...can't talk about the plot but the title is actually too revealing. It's not getting great reviews but I really liked it. Unusual framing of the shots, very suspenseful heightened by heart racing music. Couple of majorly hawt scenes early on. It's very very difficult to accept and believe that Ewan is a nerdy kind of guy whose job is that of an accountant/auditor who doesn't know how to attract women. THAT is such a stretch. But Ewan, Hugh Jackson and Michelle Williams (absolutely luminous) are very good in their parts - actually everyone does deliver and the first 3/4 of the film grabs you. I won't say anymore except that the last 1/4 is what all the critics are hanging their negative reviews on..
Love Ewan..always will.

I totally agree, lovelucas about the title and Ewan's casting as a nerdy accountant (like me, ha). The best part of the film for me was the steamy hawt sex scenes (you know me....). I was rather disappointed in the film in general though, and would rank it near the bottom of Ewan's movies - most definitely below at least 2/3 of them. I wanted more at the end and it really let me down. The suspense kinda died about 3/4 of the way through and I found myself wondering when this is gonna end. A shame.  
I also found Ewan's character hard to believe. Ewan is far from nerdy, even if you try to make him look like one. He is just too sexy no matter what you try to do to him! LOL Believeablilty was a major problem for me at times, however, the way he gets sucked in was done well, IMO. Oh, well. I had more fun watching his motorcycle trips...
I would recommend rental of this film, rather than spend a hard earned $9 on it. Sorry.

Ewan and Craig seemed to be really hopped up on something during that taping, that's fer sure. I've never seen Ewan quite so "loose". I could tell they were friends and it was more than a casual celebrity interview. They were going nuts together. LOL I taped it so I could watch it again.
Too bad "my nude scenes in SW were cut". "So you want to be a Jedi, check this out. Woooo" LOL!!! All seemed to get a good laugh out of that. Ha. And what's all this about firecrackers up Craig's arse?
