Any other fellow writer/directors?
Anybody else here in the industry, partly because of the influence of Starwars?

RE: Any other fellow writer/directors?
Star Wars is one of the many influences that got me into film.
I am not in the industry as of yet, though I have made several independent shorts and worked on several independent films.
We'll see what happens when I finish school. I've already made several great contacts and know a few people on the inside that can help me when I'm ready.
I'm confident in my abilities and know that I'll be able to achieve my goals.

Not yet. Im going to major in film in college, and as of now I plan on moving to California after college. I am greatly looking forward to college and being given the oppurtunitty to make short films and what not. Right now Ithaca is one of my top choices. I hear FSU has an awesome film program, but they accept like 15 students a year. Oh well, cant hurt to apply.

I write, but haven't submitted anything for publication because I am never satisfied with my own work.

I work for
these good people.
I've worked on three independant films as sound and production assistant, as well as a BBC TV series. I've directed a short 15 minute film and a 10 minute documentary. I'm also an actor (albeit a pretty poor one).
I'm also the web designer and web-PR of these two sites:
Quantum Digital
and
Aylesbury films
.
Currently, I'm taking a bit of a break from all that as I'm studying Archaeology. However, I am currently writing my first feature film which I plan on directing next winter.
Right now I'm in pre-production, preparing the script, cast and crew. I have a producer, a possible distributor, a cinematographer and sound assistant. teh site for my own company, Avatar Films will be up soon.
I got into the business partly because of my love for Starwars. However, my desire to direct my own feature film is entirely due to A.I.

I directed and stared in a home movie once. Of course it was closer in tone to Star Whores than Star Wars...

I mainly do animation at Uni,but i am going to do screenplay and Film Study modules.
I hope to be getting some work at Granada T.V in the next fiew weeks on 'Cold Feet' as as runner so i can get my foot in the door.
I have to say that it is because of Lucas and Spielberg that i am movie mad.
Movies have always been an escape from the real world for me and i have always seen movies being my future since i was really young !!!

Yes SidiousDragon. I was born in 1974 and George Lucas and Steven Spielberg were two of the biggest influences on me to make movies. Check out my Episode 2 fan film in my sig to see some of my work. It was my first attempt to do a 'Star Wars' short film. When I do a version of Episode 3, it will be much better.

I'm neither a writer nor a director, but I am an award-winning filmmaker. My friend and I did a stop motion of the last two scenes of MacBeth using Play Mobile toys and won the Award for Best Use of Animation in the Rod Serling School of Film festival. That is all.
Amazing.
