YOTS started this in the PSA but it was said that it would work better here so here goes
Heres the directions:
first off go to this Website=
GO TO THIS WEBSITE TO SEE ALL THE CHOICES
Pick one that you like and note the ID number.
Ok once you figure out which one you like look at this address and type out which id # you liked after id=:
http://www.episode-x.com/episode2/countdown/countdown.php?id=1
For example the one above says id=1, if you like id 2, write id=2
Ok now copy the address you like. For example if you like id #1 copy this address:
http://www.episode-x.com/episode2/countdown/countdown.php?id=1
Ok now that you have your favorite address copied, go to your desktop screen, and right click, a window should open up....click on where it says properties.
Now another window should open up, click on the tab that says WEB.
It will go to your webdisplay ...and if nothing is listed you cool...but if something is make sure it isnt highlighted. Anyways now click on the choice that says NEW
If a window opens that says new active desktop item and asks you a question....click no on the yes or no choice. A new window should open up also called NEW ACTIVE DESTOP ITEM......It will have something that says Location, paste the webaddress to copied into the space it provides you. Click ok, and let it download whatever it downloads to you. Ok now on your WEB display it should have your website listed, make sure it has a check on it, and press apply.Your countdown should now appear on your desktop if you are connected to the internet when you do this...if it doesn look right, you will be able to resize it, and place it whereveer you wish on your desktop. As long as you keep your computer on, and dont restart....your countdown will stay up even if you disconnect the internet. But if it does not show up and you get a funny looking box, connect to the internet and right click on it and choose refresh. SOmetimes when episode x.com's servers are down, the countdown wont appear. The countdown is atomatically connected to your computers clock, so it will adjust to any time your clock says it is. Hope this helps.

Sorry.
The only reason I can think of is if you have windows 95. It needs to be 98 or higher.

The countdown is atomatically connected to your computers clock, so it will adjust to any time your clock says it is. Hope this helps.
So if I adjust my clock, Episode II will come out tomorrow?

Thanks buddy!
Btw, I have XP, and I had to hit 'Costumize Desktop' to find the 'Web' tab, so that might help out people here.

Just for the record mine stays on all the time. Even when I'm not on the internet.
I don't know if it will still work if Ep-x goes down though

I have a different style:
Using activedesktop, I included this in it:
<script language="JavaScript1.2">
function setcountdown(theyear,themonth,theday,thehour,themin,thesec){
yr=theyear;mo=themonth;da=theday;hr=thehour;min=themin;sec=thesec
}
//////////CONFIGURE THE COUNTDOWN SCRIPT HERE//////////////////
//STEP 1: Configure the countdown-to date, in the format year, month, day, hour(0=midnight,23=11pm), minutes, seconds:
setcountdown(2002,05,16,00,01,01)
//STEP 2: Change the two text below to reflect the occasion, and message to display on that occasion, respectively
var occasion="Episode II is released!"
var message_on_occasion="IT'S HERE!"
//STEP 3: Configure the below 5 variables to set the width, height, background color, and text style of the countdown area
var countdownwidth='520px'
var countdownheight='35px'
var countdownbgcolor='black'
var opentags='<font face="Verdana" color=#FFFFFF><small>'
var closetags='</small></font>'
//////////DO NOT EDIT PAST THIS LINE//////////////////
var montharray=new Array("Jan","Feb","Mar","Apr","May","Jun","Jul","Aug","Sep","Oct","Nov","Dec")
var crosscount=''
function start_countdown(){
if (document.layers)
document.countdownnsmain.visibility="show"
else if (document.all||document.getElementById)
crosscount=document.getElementById&&!document.all?document.getElementById("countdownie") : countdownie
countdown()
}
if (document.all||document.getElementById)
document.write('<span id="countdownie" style="width:'+countdownwidth+'; background-color:'+countdownbgcolor+'"></span>')
window.onload=start_countdown
function countdown(){
var today=new Date()
var todayy=today.getYear()
if (todayy < 1000)
todayy+=1900
var todaym=today.getMonth()
var todayd=today.getDate()
var todayh=today.getHours()
var todaymin=today.getMinutes()
var todaysec=today.getSeconds()
var todaystring=montharray[todaym]+" "+todayd+", "+todayy+" "+todayh+":"+todaymin+":"+todaysec
futurestring=montharray[mo-1]+" "+da+", "+yr+" "+hr+":"+min+":"+sec
dd=Date.parse(futurestring)-Date.parse(todaystring)
dday=Math.floor(dd/(60*60*1000*24)*1)
dhour=Math.floor((dd%(60*60*1000*24))/(60*60*1000)*1)
dmin=Math.floor(((dd%(60*60*1000*24))%(60*60*1000))/(60*1000)*1)
dsec=Math.floor((((dd%(60*60*1000*24))%(60*60*1000))%(60*1000))/1000*1)
//if on day of occasion
if(dday<=0&&dhour<=0&&dmin<=0&&dsec<=1&&todayd==da){
if (document.layers){
document.countdownnsmain.document.countdownnssub.document.write(opentags+message_on_occasion+closetags)
document.countdownnsmain.document.countdownnssub.document.close()
}
else if (document.all||document.getElementById)
crosscount.innerHTML=opentags+message_on_occasion+closetags
return
}
//if passed day of occasion
else if (dday<=-1){
if (document.layers){
document.countdownnsmain.document.countdownnssub.document.write(opentags+"Occasion already passed! "+closetags)
document.countdownnsmain.document.countdownnssub.document.close()
}
else if (document.all||document.getElementById)
crosscount.innerHTML=opentags+"Occasion already passed! "+closetags
return
}
//else, if not yet
else{
if (document.layers){
document.countdownnsmain.document.countdownnssub.document.write(opentags+dday+ " days, "+dhour+" hours, "+dmin+" minutes, and "+dsec+" seconds left until "+occasion+closetags)
document.countdownnsmain.document.countdownnssub.document.close()
}
else if (document.all||document.getElementById)
crosscount.innerHTML=opentags+dday+ " days, "+dhour+" hours, "+dmin+" minutes, and "+dsec+" seconds left until "+occasion+closetags
}
setTimeout("countdown()",1000)
}
</script>
When I did this it creates a countdown clock, and it works no matter what!
