Easiest song to learn
|
I'm a complete beginner with an acoustic guitar - have been trying to learn on and off for a while, so I guess beginner isn't completly inaccurate but...well, I'm just not a musical person. What songs do you think are easiest to learn, to give me a bit of an ego boost?

Nirvana! Everyone starts with those. (well exept me, cuz I start with traditionals when I was 6...lol)

I reccomend "Mary Had A Little Lamb."
Seriously, GAP has a point, though. Friend of mine who plays guitar told me "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was the easiest of the first few songs he ever learned.

'Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Poison
3 chords, that's it. Although most kids won't remember it now.
"Hash Pipe" by Weezer is pretty easy too, but it won't really sound good on an acoustic.

Brain Stew by Green Day <-- Very Easy
Nothing Else Matters by Metallica
Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin
Actually Stairway isn't that easy, but it's very good to learn if you're just starting out. Plus, if you learn it you will feel great about your guitar skills.
The intro to Nothing Else Matters is fairly easy, but as the song progresses it just gets harder and harder.

Anything by Nirvana or Green Day is quite simple. If you're a complete beginner, then you should wait before attempting to play Hash Pipe or Stairway to Heaven. Most beginners that I know have trouble playing the muted power chords in Hash Pipe. You may be able to play the intro to Stairway, but you should definately wait before attempting the whole song.

Drums and guitar aren't exactly the same thing, Metallica's drumming is fairly easy because Ulrich isn't really a great drummer.
