'Wonderwall' requires a capo. I don't have one and while the chrod progression is easy I've yet to get it to sound right since I don't own a capo.
Also, if you learn 'Wild Thing' it's only a small step to mastering Boston's 'More Than A Feeling'; and if you learn the main riff to The Beatles 'Day Tripper' again it will be a small step, just change a couple notes around, and you will have learned 'Hair Of the Dog' by Nazareth.
But still, 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' is the easiest song ever written on acoustic.

I refuse to believe that any Bob Dylan song would be more simple than a Bret Michaels song. Dylan is a master.

best song for begginers.....
House of the rising sun
its a bit hard for a very first song, but it features tonnes of basic chords, and will get you off to a flying start!
and plus it sounds cool
