Ewan McGregor SINGS?

Bah, I'll bet Jude Law can sing better, though :P He just isn't an attention whore. wink

Seriously, "Iris" was my favorite love song for a while. I like a lot of Savage Garden, but which one is "Crash and Burn" again? I know I've heard it, I just can't think of it.

Oh, and John Denver's "Annie's Song" is really good, too. But it has mixed meaning for me, because it also reminds me of a friend of mine who passed away. So it's kinda a bittersweet kinda thing. Not to mention it reminds me of the last weeks with one of my bfs, a very special time. So it's more like bitter-bitter-sweet. Anyway, I'm shutting up now.

I agree. Hero is a great song.

Life hates me and the feeling is mutual

My favorite romantic song: Erotica, a little gem that boasts, "there's a certain amount of pleasure in a little bit of pain."

"Ewan McGregor SINGS?"

Heeeeelllllllll yeah.

Watch Moulin Rouge, the guy is a great singer. I hated the movie with a passion, but his singing was impressive.

U2 - One

and

Blind Melon - Soul One (a few people know this one, but I think it's amazing!)

lyrics:

How come, girl was there when I needed one
How come, girl was there when the song is done
Some say, open your eyes to a brighter light
Okay, open my arms they were right
She was my soul one
She felt she was the only one
She was the sun, the sky blue eyes
She was my soul one

Inside, pain in my heart often made her cry
Outside, I cursed the birds and the sugar sky
How long take to realize she's the one
How long until I find my lost and lonely soul one

She was my soul one
She felt like the only one
She was the sun, the sky blue eyes
She was my soul one

Should of never taken the time
'Cause I found myself living a lonely lie
You said, you left to find yourself
But I never, no I never got the chance to say good-bye

She was my soul one I though she was.......

How about "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison?

It's really good if you like a girl with brown eyes.

Also, "Pictures of Lily" from The Who. tongue

Just hearing about "At Last" makes me weak in the knees.

I agree with whoever said it first back on page one: Elton John's "Your Song" is the most romantic song I've heard so far in my eighteen short years, seconded perhaps by Jeremy Toback's "You Make Me Feel". ("Your Song" is even better when sung by Ewan McGregor on the Moulin Rouge soundtrack.)

I've heard "Hero" way too many times to consider it the least bit romantic, and it doesn't help that I already hate Enrique's voice. That song is to most radio stations what "I Don't Want To Miss a Thing" was a few years ago when Armageddon came out: overdramatized, overplayed, irritating, and musically challenged.

Black Sabbath : Solitude

My name it means nothing
my fortune is less
My future is shrouded in dark wilderness
Sunshine is far away, clouds linger on
Everything I posessed - Now they are gone

Oh where can I go to and what can I do?
Nothing can please me only thoughts are of you
You just laughed when I begged you to stay
I've not stopped crying since you went away

The world is a lonely place - you're on your own
Guess I will go home - sit down and moan.
Crying and thinking is all that I do
Memories I have remind me of you

(this is so more romantic then that silly "hero" song. tongue )

Or this one, same band:

Changes
I feel unhappy
I feel so sad
I lost the best friend
That I ever had

She was my woman
I loved her so
But it's too late now
I've let her go

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes

We shared the eve's
We shared each day
In love together
We found a way

But soon the world
Had its evil way
My heart was blinded
Love went astray

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes

It took so long
To realize
That I can still hear
Her last goodbyes

Now all my days
Are filled with tears
Wish I could go back
And change these years

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes

I thought it was common knowledge that the most romantic song ever was Poison's "Unskinny Bop".

Connemara,

Savage Garden's "Crash And Burn" is the one with the chorus that goes as follows:

Let me be the one you call
If you jump, I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash, then crash and burn
You're not alone

Very sweet song. happy

And yep, Ewan McGregor sings. I've actually never seen Moulin Rouge, having heard all sorts of mixed reviews of it, but I've got a couple bits from the soundtrack. Who knew Obi-Wan had such a great voice? happy

What was it like to see
The face of your own stability
Suddenly look away
Leaving you with the dead and hopeless?

Eleven and she was gone.
Eleven is when we waved good-bye.
Eleven is standing still,
Waiting for me to free him
By coming home.

Moving me with a sound.
Opening me within a gesture.
Drawing me down and in,
Showing me where it all began,
Eleven.

It took so long to realize that
You hold the light that's been leading me back home.

Under a dead ohio sky,
Eleven has been and will be waiting,
Defending his light,
And wondering...
Where have I been?
Sleeping, lost, and numb.
So glad that I have found you.
I am wide awake and heading home.

[what was it like to see you] fade
???
dreams have faded
kill your light
hurt your soul
hold your light

hold your light where I can lead
dream and day and memory
hold your light
hold your light
hold your light where I can see

Hold your light,
Eleven.
Lead me through each gentle step by step
by inch by loaded memory.

I'll move to heal
As soon as pain allows so we can
Reunite and both move on together.

Hold your light,
Eleven. Lead me through each gentle step by step
By inch by loaded memory
'till one and one are one, eleven,
So glow, child, glow.

I'm heading back home.

Tool, jimmy

Maybe not to you, but this does evoke far more memories of lost love than the Hero song.

How about "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison?

Is that the one that Everclear did a cover of?
