5. Cartoon shows were actually good.
You have got to be kidding me. Those bastards were feeding us 30 minute commercials and we lapped it up. The 80s was a black hole. The more distance we put between us and the whole decade the better.

The synthesizers were what ruined the 80s music for me, after Flock of Seagulls EVERYONE used those damned things.

TI-99-4A computer.
From what I can remember, it was nothing but a keyboard with a few computer chips that you hooked up to your TV. It didn't use floppys, to save you'd need a tape, and that was an adapter you apparently had to buy extra. We just used ours for games, which were loaded with read only cartages. Ahhh, how times have changed.

We had one of those TIs. Man, were they crappy. I tried to convince my parents to get an Apple II, but did they listen to me? No. It was too expensive, they said. Well, you get what you pay for. The second time they bought a computer was almost twenty years later, and again I suggested they get an iMac. After all, they're easy to use and they'd even have a direct line to an expert (yours truly) if they needed help. Again, they complained it was too expensive, and bought an el cheapo Quantex that they've had nothing but trouble with. The lesson kiddies is listen to B.J., because he's always right.

I was born in '84.
I still have my original Nintendo, with Star Wars. I have too many Atari games to mention (about 50 of them). I have an Atari Linx as well.
Some tv shows you forgot to add:
-INSPECTOR GADGET
-DANGER MOUSE

I was born in '86; so I am not exactly a children of the 80's. Yet I do remember Nintendo, and how many hours of wonder it brought for me. I never owned one, but my friend had a working unit. We used to play Mario 3 and Teenage Mutant Hero Ninja Turtles all day long
My favourite TV-shows were McGyver ( I was a huge fan; 'thus I had a similar hair-style with the miracle man ), Knight Rider and Teenage Mutant Hero Ninja Turtles -cartoon. I remember when the first TMNT movie came out.

I am 24 years old, I was born in 1978, and the '80s will always be a part of me. The decade was soo cool.
It's interesting that so many age ranges call themselves "children of the '80s", from 36 year olds that were teenagers back then in the '80s, down to people 16 and under!
I don't remember that many people wanting to identify themsevles with the '70s. The '80s are a forever cool decade.
