I need some help with a paper.
The phrase "relatively beautiful". Think about the phrase for a minute, then give me some examples of something(it can be hypothetical) that you would consider "relatively beautiful"(explain the context so I understand why it's "relative"), or if you think there is even such a thing a "relative beauty".
Examples and thoughts on the phrase are what I'm looking for.
And please, be original. No, "Everything's relative" Just your thoughts.

Yes and no. To the person looking at her/him/it, usually a spouse in my example, they are beautiful. Not relatively, but just plain and simple. To a bystander, she/he/it is relatively beautiful, because they are comparing it to their own perfect beauty. You get it.

relative beauty...that would be something that somebody thinks is beatiful in comparison to something else.

Some people consider vehicles to be beautiful. I for one find the Naboo N-1 Starfighter to be very elegant and, yes beautiful. But compare it to the female form and it falls very short.
You can desribe effects as beautiful, like some of the effects in AOTC. The effects of the Geonosians were beautifully made. But again, when made relative to the female form, they once again fall short.
You can tell that I fancy someone at college who I'm not going out with, can't you?

The only good response I've gotten which used a person as an example was someone who lived in NY who saw a pretty homeless girl, about 8 yrs. old, in rags with dirt on her face, but she had a beauty about her. Didn't get a good explanation, but it was an interesting example.

Yes, but comparing women and vehicles is like comparing apples and oranges. You can't say, "Boy, that is one hot car. Hotter than that jogger. I mean, she doesn't have the transmission of this baby, and..." etc.
Oh, try Senate, from the direction this things seems to be going.

The obvious direction to take this is that if something, a person, thing, thought, action, whatever, has beauty than it just has beauty, in which case there would be no "relative beauty", just beauty. But I wanna examine the other side. I just need a really good example to trigger some thought.
