I had an interview show on a big radio station in Texas for a number of years. I interviewed all kinds of celebrities, politicians, performers, authors, etc.
It was very very interesting. When they came through town to promote their project or whatever, I always got to talk to them.
I interviewed Jean Claude Van Damme one time. He was very nice to me. He even gave me about a ten minute martial arts lesson afterwards. I think one reason the interview went so well is that I'd really done my homework and knew all about him and his movies and he could tell. I think the rest of the people who had interviewed him on the publicity tour didn't give a damn about him and didn't care who he was. I know he's gotten some bad press and his career's going in the toilet, but I'll say that during the brief time I spent with him, he was very cordial and it was a positive experience.
I probably interviewed 700 to 800 celebrities over a ten year period.
I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.
Instead of me traveling the world to meet interesting people, they traveled to meet me!
