Major changes to the SAT exam!!!

Today the College Board voted to make some significant changes to the SAT test, which will be taken into effect in March 2005. The changes are as followed:
From the Associated Press...
~Adding a third, writing section with a 25-minute essay question and multiple choice grammar-usage questions modeled on the current SAT II writing test, introduced in the 1990s. Also scored on a 200-800 scale, the new section will boost the top SAT score to 2,400. Each student's essay will be read and scored, then scanned onto a Web site for college admissions officials to read.
~Renaming the verbal section "critical reading," and dropping analogies while adding more, shorter prose passages to test reading ability. The passages will be from various academic disciplines, such as science, history and literature.
~Adding to the math section, over a period of years, questions from third-year high school math, specifically algebra II, and dropping quantitative comparisons, such as asking a test-taker to use an algebraic equation to compare the volumes of similar geometric objects.
~The new test will take up to 3.5 hours to complete and cost about $10-$12 more than the $26 it will be this fall, though low-income students will continue to be eligible for a fee waiver. The test will also include a feature to provide test-takers feedback on skills that need improving.

These new changes are crap. They were crap when the SAT II came out. My score jumped 200 points just because of the switch. It sounds to me as if the SAT is getting easier and easier.

Why bother with the SAT, when you can take the ACT.
Not all colleges consider ACT scores. Almost all colleges, however, consider SAT scores.

Because all prestige schools require SATs.
Try getting in to MIT without a SAT.
Sorry.
However you can get in without an ACT.

What? Prestige? You shouldn't pick a college because of it's name. You should pick one that suits you.
I have friends who went to Georgetown and Yale, but eventually transferred because they didn't like it. Both are going to Columbia right now.
Also, like I said before, schools sometimes hava preference of taking either the ACT or the SAT. Most schools would rather take SAT scores.

If they realy wanted to change things, they wouldn't make High-Schoolers wake up early on a Saturday morning to take it. I sleep in on Saturday mornings. Making me miss that for a test is not a good idea.
