If I watched TV this would concern me. As it is, now that I have DVD, I never turn on the television even to watch a video.

"Do you keep slices of bread in your bathroom for such occasions?"
No, that would just be silly. I assure you, were I to run out of toilet paper, my back up would be tissues. Only after both are exhausted would I be seen running through my house searching for bread.
Amazing.

Come to think of it I would imagine tortillas would probably be a better choice if you have any around. More durable I would guess...

What exactly is the official substitute order for when you run out of toilet paper?
I wouldn't think sliced bread would be very high on that list. But you never know?
How's this one?
1. Tissues
2. Sliced Bread
3. T.V. remote

Yes, tortillas would most definately be better. But only flour ones, the corn ones break/fall apart easier.
But then, would a French loaf of bread work better than slices. It is harder than a slice, easier to get a grip on, and once you have broken off the desired amount you need, you can eat the rest!

What you want to do with a TV remote in your spare time is up to you, but I wouldn't use it as a toilet paper substitute. I think third on the list would be a sponge, followed by wetnaps.
Amazing.

But if the T.V. remote was in the shape of a slice of bread, technically you could use it.

INDEED IT WOULD BE!
And just imagine what it would look like after you were done with it.
I don't even want to think about cleaning the spaces around the numbers and channel/volume controls.

The shape is highly irrelevant. Absorbancy is what matters. Bread is damn fine at absorption. Remotes are generally made of plastic. Plastic is not so good at absorption.
Amazing.

I would have thought that just cleaning off would override any other factor in this matter.
Getting rid of what's there seems to be the objective in the first place, and if in a real bind, anything that can do the job would work.
T.V. remotes shaped like a slice of bread included!

I feel that the remote would be much easier to clean off than the bread, you would almost ruin the bread.

When you put it in that perspective, you are correct.
Even a toasted slice of bread would get soggy when cleaning it.

I think this might bring us back to the tortilla again... I hate to keep harping on that but i think it would be suprisingly resilient even through cleaning ... hmmm
