Can anyone tell me why they are soooo much more satisfying to listen to than MP3s are?

Is that just a better format that does the same thing as MP3's, like a compresser?

No, it's an older format. When you play a song on a keyboard and transfer it to a computer, it records it as a MIDI file. I stick to mp3's as well.

The size is so much smaller and if you have a great sound card/sound system, they sound just as clear as MP3s minus the lyrics.

As clear as Mp3's? Is that possible?
Your taking out the beats from a mp3, is it possible for it to be just as good as a mp3 when all you've got are digital beats?

It honestly depends on how clear your system is. If you've got like a 128 voice sound card, MIDIs are heavenly. If you've got a 32 voice SC, you're up a creek.

That would explain it. I've got Creative 128 Vibra card, and Midi's just play tunes for me, no where near mp3 quality.
