BTW, I'm confused, Spiderfan. Doesn't the show not premiere in Canada until tomorrow? Have you been downloading torrents?

You should look Smallville up in the dictionary. "Smallville. SMALL-ville. 1. Quick, rushed climaxes tying an entire episode together in a matter of seconds. 2. Long denouments that last almost longer than the conflict itself.

Huh?
Season 2 remiere: Wrapped everything up in the first episode.
Season 3 premiere: Technically two episodes, but everything from the season 2 finale cliffhanger was resolved in the pre-title sequence of the second episode. Basically just a reason to make the season premiere end in a cliffhanger.
Season 4: Wrapped everything up in the first episode.
Season 5: Wrapped everything up in the first episode.
Season 6: Wrapped everything up in the first episode.
Season 7: Wrapped everything up in the first episode.
Season 8: Wrapped everything up in the first episode.
Are you thinking of another show?

Either way, there are many plot holes (viewers didn't get to see why things are, it just happened without explantion.) Poor.

Space shows the repeat broadcast. City TV and A Channel show the original airing.

If you refer specifically to the fact that Clark is recharged by solar energy, they have explained that numerous times. For once they didn't over explain something and someone still finds fault.

*Sigh...* I smell another typical Smallville season. Lots of anticipation; not a lot of satisfaction. Although, if this Tes-person is really creating an anti-JLA (Can't remember the bad guy's team's name right now) it could be fun. Or it could be another incedent like the one when Lex was building an army. We won't get to see them in action. And is Davis really Doomsday?

Slimy's rant...
Yeah, the show, unfortunately, has gotten really childish. I mean, just seeing Clark and Lois in action as reporters for the Daily Planet reminded me of just how stupid and insipid it reallyis. I mean, for crying out loud, HOW IS HE A REPORTER FOR THE DAILY PLANET! Look, I'm a 20-year-old film student who has never written so much as an article in my life. Do you think I could get a job at the freaking New York Times. Well, maybe if I had written for my high school newspaper, I'd be able to when I turn 21.
You know what we need here...
RETCON PUNCH!
Okay, well, I'd at least appreciate it if the writers sort of retroactively stated that Clark and Lois have been taking journalism classes at Kansas A&M this whole time, and their jobs are pretty much jobs offered to students. Even then, they'd have to have the best prose since St. Matthew, but at least it'd be slightly more believable.
It's just another insipid, childish plot hole. Like how Smallville went from being about three hours away from Metropolis, to basically being next door, so that Chloe can live above the Talon and work at the Daily Planet. I mean, how the hell is the biggest big city in the world right next to a bunch of farms?
These childish plot holes are what makes the show inferior to other great teen-adventure shows from the CW, like Buffy, Roswell, or Veronica Mars. You'd never see Joss Whedon, Jason Katims, or Rob Thomas pulling crap like this.
Anyway...
So that girl's name was Bet,right? Or was it spelled Bette? Like Bette Kane, AKA Flamebird?
Also, I fail to see how Doomsday, a mindless killing machine made out of rock genetically engineered on Krpton, which awakens on Earth and stampedes through Metropolis until it destroys everything in it's path, has anytrhing to do with a cutey-boy EMT.
And speaking of the cutey-boy EMT, what do we have here, a love-rectangle? Chloe's got Jimmy, Clark and Davis all going for her? Maybe they should just retitle the series "There's Something about Chloe."
But hey, next week looks interesting! Green Arrow: Year One! Guest-starring Tess! What's the connection in their past? What does this hold for the show's future?
And I'm still pissing my pants waiting for the Legion of Super-Heroes episode. I mean, Geoff Johns, seriously!
*Phew!* Thus ends Slimy's rant. As always...
Slimy!

They establish a long time ago that Smallville is not far from Metropolis (at least for this show)...long before Chloe was living at the Talon. As early as the end of the second season you see a Red-K infected Clark buzzing off on his motorcycle towards a not too distant Metropolis that is in clear view of the rolling acres of farms.

Since when has Smallville remained faithful to the continuity? Why should Doomsday be any different? And we don't know how Davis becomes Doomsday yet. All we know is that it got much praise from DC Golden Boy Geoff Johns.
I also seem to recall that Titan from a few seasons ago was very Doomsday like and that there was always more to that story than meets the eye. At the risk of jumping the gun I am wondering if Davis/Doomsday may be connected to him somehow. As I recall his DNA was used for 33.1 experiments...there is no telling who else received a superboost from Titan.

Metropolis is supposed to be on the coast.
Plus in the truth-telling episode it was an eight hour drive to get Shark Dogs from the football stadium, there and back.

The writers said in a commentary they imagined Smallville as being about three hours away. This was pretty much made canon when Chloe walked into Lionel's office in one episode and told him she didn't appreciate having to go through the six hour drive. (I assume she meant three hours to, three hours back).

I am aware of where its supposed to be but its pretty clearly visible from Smallville in various episodes.

Which commentary?

She must drive really slow or traffic was deadlocked because its noticeably close to Smallville.

Next week's episode introduces Maxima. As well as a Clark/Lois romance.
I love it when they introduce characters from the comics. How many have there been so far? Let's see...
Season 1
Clark Kent / Superman
Lex Luthor
Lana Lang
Jonathan Kent
Martha Kent
Pete Ross
Season 2
Maggie Sawyer
Jor-El
Season 3
Perry White
Season 4
Lois Lane
Sam Lane
Lucy Lane
Season 5
Brainiac
Arthur Curry / Aquaman
Vic Stone / Cyborg
General Zod
Season 6
Jimmy Olsen
Oliver Queen / The Green Arrow
J'onn J'onzz / The Martian Manhunter
Season 7
Kara Kent / Supergirl
Zor-El
Lara
Dinah Lance / The Black Canary
Season 8
Mercy Graves (AKA Tess Mercer)
Maxima
Rokk Krinn / Cosmic Boy
Imra Ardeen / Saturn Girl
Garth Ranzz / Lightning Lad
Doomsday
I left "Bart Allen" out because the writers can't seem to decide just what character that's supposed to be. Is he The Flash or is he Impulse? Until they either change his codename to "The Flash," and he starts going by Barry, or until they reveal that he's actually from the future, and goes back there until further notice, it doesn't seem like he's really either character to me.
Also, the "Bizarro" they introduced is not the real Bizarro. The real Bizarro says things like "I are Bizarro. Bizarro kill Superman. Superman bad. Bizarro good. Bizarro #1!"
BTW, you know what's a tiny thing that really irks me? It shouldn't matter, but it does. Just how are Chloe and Lois cousins?I mean, what's their relationship? Since they have different last names, that means Sam Lane is either Chloe's father's sister's brother, her mother's brother, or her mother's sister's brother. I know it doesn't really matter, but I would just like to know.
