How much of the book connects to other EU?

Was the earlier guess that Hett/Krayt is in it correct?

 

This is NOT a spoiler thread and ARCs tend to be supplied with strict conditions - the book isn't out for a good few weeks yet.

 

I imagine all the mods are looking like this at the moment:

Yeah, but that was both less recent than Out of the Wilderness and at least as much influenced by Yojimbo as A Fistful of Dollars, probably more.

 

There's a classic western movie that's I was more expecting to hear comparisons to, but nobody's mentioned it yet. Be interesting to see if it comes up. As usual, my work has a wide (and often odd) variety of influences!

Speaking of my work, the KENOBI prequel short story in Star Wars Insider #143 now has a title: "Incognito", and some fine Chris Scalf art up at the Del Rey Facebook page. The magazine releases on July 24. (And speaking of prequel short stories, to celebrate the worldwide release of my own Overdraft book -- ebook available right away, print edition July 23 -- I've released the prequel short story "Human Error" as a Kindle freebie for the rest of this week. I'll be at San Diego -- Del Rey panel at noon on Friday, signings for them Friday at 2 and Saturday at 11:30. We'll have Kenobi posters among many other things.

 

John, can we hope for images of any of the new characters from the novel? Or is this totally separate?

PS- I want an Erbaly action figure.

 

I want to read a conversation between Erbaly and the Science-Denying Aqualish.

 

It's separate, but is an incident referred to in the novel.

Seriously, I guess I last did NYCC and Baltimore Comicons a while ago -- I'm at least looking at NYCC this year, and I'll get as far as West Virginia for an event that'll be announced later this summer.

 

Not certain on NYCC just yet -- will pull the trigger on that after SDCC.

 

But I live here (NY). So obviously any type of food you could want to eat, I could tell you where to eat it...

 

I live in Pittsburgh, but I have an air mattress you could use.

Why do you author people and publisher people keep doing that? You almost had me buying the hardcover, and now I'm seriously considering buying the paperback instead because of a few pages that might get included.

 

None of the new Insider stories (2011-) have been collected in paperbacks. Hopefully they get their own paperback/e-book some time in the future.

 

I have been asking for years to get a collection of all the insider stories in a book together...
