Look it up, wocky. You'll discover it's something you're quite good at appearing to be masterful at, but are in reality quite dreadfully bad at.

Fridge Logic has been the writer's-room term for these little Internal Consistency issues for a good while, as in "Don't sweat the Fridge Logic, we've got bigger fish to fry. We've only got 20 minutes left to work in three costume changes, a foreign language, and a weird wig." It refers to some illogical or implausible plot point that the audience doesn't realize during the show, but only long afterwards. This naming is highly subjective, since not every person follows the same train of thought. Some people will never even realize there was a problem, while others will call it a Plot Hole, since they already noticed the problem during the show.

The phrase was technically coined by Alfred Hitchcock. When asked about the scene in Vertigo when Madeleine mysteriously, and impossibly, disappears from the hotel that Scottie saw her in, he responded by calling it an "icebox" scene, that is, a scene that "hits you after you've gone home and start pulling cold chicken out of the icebox."

It has nothing to do with nuking fridges (unless it's after the movie and you go "Hey, wait, that doesn't make any sense!" :p )

Though I think the exact trope that was being referenced earlier was Fridge Brilliance (or possibly Horror).

So while we wait one more agonizing week for episode 9, here's this 30 second clip from episode 10. Originally shown at NYCC, it was only uploaded now.

Usually I keep away from preview vids and the like, but this time I couldn't resist. No episodes for two weeks? Blah, I'll take a 30 second quick fix!

Old news. :p I already posted this (the complete panel, with the whole lecture on how an episode is put together, from script to final animation):

I let the text of that one fly because it was stuff in the launch trailer as opposed to continuing promos that are coming out, but fair is fair -- they should all probably be spoiler walled.

Coruscant: Just whom am I expressing ingratitude towards?

    *looks up definition*

    Erm.

Riogfsdofhi, that's who. By suffixing it with the curse "faedae," you were expressing ingratitude to the deity Riogfsdofhi.

    On one hand...

OH MY GOD! Two weekends with an hour of Korra! That is awesome!

    On the other hand...

Oh my God...Korra will be ending soon...That is not awesome.

The Search Part 3 was released in comic book stores a few days ago.

    1. Aang brings the Mother of Faces back with him from the Spirit World

    2. FLASHBACK. Ursa talks with Noren, who reveals himself to be Ikem with a new face.

    3. MOF goes to the forest once a season to grant favors to those who manage to find her. Zuko feels compassion for Misu and Rafa and let's them take the favor.

    4. Azula butts in and asks the favor herself. MOF reveals that Ursa encountered her previously and requested that her face be changed...into the same face as Noriko. Azula makes a run for it back to Hira'a as Zuko and Sokka give chase.

    5. Misu tries to stop MOF from leaving and she is angered. Aang tries to stop her from leaving as he dives into the pool.

    6. FLASHBACK. Ikem tells Ursa that it's been hard for him after she left, and at one point entered Forgetful Valley. He encountered MOF and she granted him a new face and identity. Ikem offers to take Ursa to meet MOF and after some consideration she accepts.

    7. After being attacked by giant crabs, Aang is expelled from the pool by MOF. She angrily tells him about how humans are so pathetic, and is incensed at Aang's scolding. She and the entire forest demand Aang and the others to leave.

    8. FLASHBACK: Ikem leads Ursa through a month-long trek in the forest, and the two bond. Their encounter with the Wolf Spirit indicates they're near, and MOF appears. Ursa asks her request and MOF senses her inner pain and notes that just a new face won't be enough to rid of it. She also gives a new persona with the face, making her forget her old life. Ursa accepts and she becomes Noriko and weds Ikem (Now going by Noren again).

    9. Zuko and Sokka arrive at Hira'a as Zuko goes inside Noren's house, with Kiyi and Noriko happy to see Zuko again. As the four dine, Zuko asks Noriko if she's happy, to which she responds that she is. Noren however knows what's going on and asks Zuko to tell her who he really is.

    10. Aang and Katara are being chased by forest spirits. Misu is determined to stay. The mask of Rafa is knocked off, revealing an empty face. Aang immediately recognizes it as the doing of Koh the Face Stealer. MOF silences the forest, and reveals that Koh is her son. Aang tells MOF of his encounter with Koh and what happened to Avatar Kuruk, and MOF grants Misu's request, giving Rafa a face.

    11. Noriko is confused and Noren explains everything, revealing himself to be Ikem. Zuko tells Ikem that he's his son, but Azula suddenly bursts into the house and knocks Zuko and Norkio aside. Sokka's boomerang hits Azula, giving time for Ikem and Kiyi to escape with Sokka, but Noriko is cornered by Azula. Noriko is unknowing of her past life, but she apologizes to Azula for whatever she may have done to her. Zuko knocks Azula aside as the two duke it out, Azula being beaten by her own redirected lightning. Azula tells Zuko that killing Noriko would free both of them from their burden of the throne and insanity respectively. But Zuko tells her that he knew his destiny was to be Fire Lord and puts his crown back on.

    12. Zuko tells Azula that even if their relationship will forever be screwed, she is still his sister. Azula runs away, dropping the letter, as Zuko runs after her. Zuko still wants to help her, but Azula is still disgusted by his compassion, as she runs away into Forgetful Valley. MOF appears and asks Noriko if she wants to remember. Despite Zuko's protests about her having happy life, Noriko accepts.

    13. The next day, Aang, Katara and Sokka are still on the lookout for Azula, but Aang feels that maybe Azula will change, looking on the bright side after they helped Misu & Rafa, and Zuko & Ursa. Before going back to Ikem and Kiyi, Ursa apologizes to Zuko as much as she did Azula for wanting to forget everything, even him. Zuko accepts, tell her about how his life turned for the better. At that, Zuko takes out the letter and shows it to Ursa. It is revealed that Ursa's letter was a bunch of baloney. She deliberately wrote that to spite Ozai and draw him out into the open of reading her private letters. But she flatly told him that she wishes Zuko wasn't Ozai's son, which lead to Ozai's maltreatment of him. Zuko, satisfied about knowing the truth, requests Ursa to tell him everything, to which she does as they bond once again as mother and son

Yeah, there was never any doubt that there would be a Korra episode on November 1; it was just the suceeding episodes that were in question. But now we know.

With The Search finished, now to wait until March for The Rift. Blegh.

Normally we're one week without an episode. A week is 7 days, you know. :p

No, because if there is an episode every week we are never a week without an episode. This is so even if you chart the week from the episode's time itself: when an episode ends, within 7 days there is another episode because from end to end 7 days have elapsed.
