Classics Ewoke adventure Plot

The first movie was rescuing the parents from the gorax, then in first 5 minutes of the second one the parents and son get murdered, What was the point of this? lol. Did the director just say "Enough of this cute crap, kill em all". Just something i found odd and funny

 

It happens in some movies.

Johnny Cage in MKA for example.

Then again MKA is widely regarded as one of the worst movies ever made.

There is even a TV Tropes entry for this. Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome.

Anyway, the Ewoks are all doomed after 4 ABY anyway due to the Endor Holocaust. A durasteel honeycomb the size of Ceres blew apart in an artificially supported pseudo-orbit at LEO altitude. Regardless of specifics, Endor isn't going to remain a habitable world for long after that.

 

The Endor Holocaust has been debated for quite some time I believe; wasn't it even refuted by an official source?

I remember seeing the 2nd Ewok film when it came out on TV way back in Fall 1985, and being shocked by the death of the parents/son so soon after the film started. This definitely increased the dramatic tension; also, IMHO, the 2nd Ewok film was far, far superior to the first one - it was more along the lines of a fantasy with the White horse, transforming witch, etc. Whereas I felt the first one moved too slow & wasn't as suspenseful. Just my .02, however....

 

Oh ya, it was a much better movie. I just found it odd to kill everyone off who they just got done saving in the first movie

 

I hardly remember the plot. I think I saw the first one some time ago, but I remember it being stupid.
