I think we need a reverse-Turing Test. I've come to think half of you are bots at this point.

Vivec, jesus, shut up. We all know you study physics and understand it, ok? But given I've no ****ing qualifications in it either, I can clearly see Warp Drives are not only plausible, but consistent with the laws of physics that I actually don't understand as I understand them.

You think just because you underwent years of study in a field that you know more about it than me, and that's really offensive.

Now, if we can get back to discussing how warp drives might facilitate time travel?

Rapid interstellar travel is the holy grail of spaceflight. If the Alcubierre-White drive works, and NASA seems to think that it will, then it will hand us the stars on a platter.

Actually you are far more obessessed over it. And Alcubierre's original has been modified to...and this is the phrase you keep having trouble with and skip over...something slightly less implausable. But you'll keep forgetting that.

Agreed. There's a big difference between being a realist and being a defeatist. A prototype interstellar starship of any type is a very long way off. I don't think anyone has any illusions about that, but the potential benefits of warp physics over other advanced propulsion concepts are such that IMHO, the effort is worth it because it may pay huge dividends over the long term.
