Except nobody who hasn't interacted with you before knows what the hell you're talking about, and CW has been referred to as a micro-series since before TCW was a thing.

You don't think that this could be a skewed sample group, do you?

I don't know what CWAS stands for but I'll probably enjoy the answer.

I've always been using that term from when the series was announced, and I'll continue to do so. You've expressed your irritation, I've expressed mine, now let's end the semantic derail, hmmm?

Agreed. And for some reason, the hmmm at the end made me read the last sentence in Yoda's voice. :p

On topic, TCW Anakin is better than Multimedia Anakin for the same reason that TCW Anakin is better than Movie Anakin.

Now I'm curious about what you thought it might stand for, but I'm afraid of derailing the thread again... [face_laugh]

Various takes on "Clone Wars: the Ahsoka Series".

Only there are people here who are funnier than I am who could spice that up a bit.

    what

I mean no offense to Mat Lucas but he sort of emphasized the more annoying aspects of Christensen's performance.

Matt Lanter is one of the bright spots of TCW. Near the top of my Star Wars wish list is radio dramas of the prequels with Matt Lanter and James Arnold Taylor.

That video shows why Micro-series Anakin rocks.

Both series' versions of Anakin were better done than film Anakin.

Shatterpoint is the only Star Wars book I've ever recommended to people who like sci-fi but scoff at "tie-ins" or "licensed fanfiction" or even Star Wars overall. That alone I think says everything that needs to be said.

I think TCW Anakin generally beats "old Clone Wars" Anakin hands down, though. As with the pre-AOTC era, waaaayyy too many authors seemed to want to present him as ready to fly off the handle at a moment's notice.

I didn't get that from the Republic comics, except the one issue after the Jabiim arc. Other than that he was portayed pretty heroically. He really wasn't all tbat dofference in TCW. Anakin was great in Obsession and so is his cameo in Cestus Deception. Lastly, LOE was exactly the same as TCW. The only tone Anakin was handled badly was his dialogue in the first two seasons of the microseries and in the 2003 Clone Wars video game. Although in those two instances he came across as whiney rather than about become evil at any moment.

The reason he appears better in TCW is because the show focused on him. In the multimedia project he came across as little more than a single character among many, instead of a clear main character like he was in TCW. The new show gave us a chance to really see who Anakin acts. I watched the show right after reading the old comics and read LOE immediately after and there wasn't a significant difference in characterization.

I really like the scene in the very first micro-series episode where the Jedi are in Palpatine's office planning the attack on Muunilinst, and Palpatine pushes against Obi-Wan's wishes to command the starfighter forces. I think it does a good example of setting up how Palpatine could be not just a mentor, but a genuine fatherly figure to Anakin as opposed to the more institutional (Yoda, Mace) or brotherly (Obi-Wan) attitudes of the Jedi. I think the Clone Wars works of either branch needed more scenes of Anakin and Palpatine to help make it actually believable that Anakin could feel persuaded to join him, rather than a spur of the moment decision.
