Why are the Imperials putting the citizens into these containers...?

That's one of those old Kenner Imperial troop transports.

Maybe for a similar reason carbonite was used in the OT.

Lol @ acting like that was any worse than the Zeb or Sabine clips. Bunch of drama queens. Sabine and Zeb take out entire squads of armed storm troopers with their bare fist and you all nod your heads. Kid robs one person and everyone is seeing red. Give me a break.

Perhaps they believe them to be Rebel sympathizers or collaborators. Or something.

What I'm wondering is what the containers are supposed to do. It does appear to be on an Imperial Troop Transport, but they're on the outside of it.

Maybe they put them on the outside as leverage. So if the rebels think they are going to attack the troop transport and possibly blow it up, they might think twice because there are civilans on the outside.

They're probably just to transport them to prison, in a manner that displays them openly to the public. "If you don't bow down and obey our regime, this happens to you too, get it?"

Probably so, only thing is I didn't see any sort of buckle to keep them strapped in (there may be one further down below that we can't see, though) so they wouldn't get flung out mid-flight.

The metal plates/doors you see sticking out likely clamp shut very tightly, leaving only their head and shoulders exposed.

Funnily enough I thought it was action figures at first glance.

For some reason I thought AND came out on the 3rd instead of the 2nd. Tomorrow is going to be so much better now. :D

They aren't containers, that's where some of the passengers ride:

In the Marvel comic it's where the Stormtroopers rode:

So I don't know what they are doing there unless they have the civilians strung out on the front as human shields

    How exposed.

I mean they're better off than those poor clones in the LAAT/i ball turrets, but still.

Maybe their commanders are hoping that by exposing them directly to enemy fire, they'll become better shots.

I like the addition of that troop transporter.

I'm hoping that Rebels doesn't go down the path of introducing AT-ATs and having them effortlessly destroyed by the heroes.

Am I the only one who thinks the Rebels theme sounds EXTREMELY similar to this piece by John Williams from the Terminal soundtrack?

Seconded. By the small evidence shown it appears they are going to persist in making Imperials seem and look incompetent except possibly the Inquisitor. A shame. I would like to see the AT-AT again but not simply to up the 'heroes' kill score. [face_phbbbbt]

Okay, so I finally saw a couple of trailers for Rebels. Of course the graphics were beautiful and I bet we get a great back story for the main characters; however, it didn't 'feel' right. I expected more of an TESB feel. I thought the series would be darker. I know its Disney but they shouldn't be so cheery with the Empire on their tails, darn it.

It's been said on record the producers are aiming for ANH style.

I think it's extremely likely that just like Clone Wars, and really the original trilogy, this series will get much more complex and challenging as time goes on. Clone Wars definitely started out with a much kiddier aesthetic than it ended up with. I initially felt that Clone Wars also "didn't feel right" but it changed that impression completely after a couple seasons.

On Clone Wars they used the venue of a kids show to get their foot in the door and then started telling a really serious Star Wars tale. Hoping to see the same trajectory here.

Interrogation perhaps by flying to altitude and then dropping them one by one?

It's a technique that has supposedly happened in real life, with helicopters, by unscrupulous forces in nasty wars. Put a bunch of captured guys who won't talk in a helicopter, climb to a hover at 1,000 feet, and start throwing them out the door one by one as long as nobody's talking.

    Someone starts talking soon enough.
