I'd say Freedon Nadd is the Star Wars Sauron, or at least pretty close (maybe an evil obi-wan)

The only thing cool about Freedon Nadd is his name.

Me! I've always wished they developed him more. I liked what we saw of him in TOTJ. He established a dynasty on Onderon and he was Exar Kun's master.

So they went with that appearance... Meh. Looks too modern and too technological, but I'm happy with what they did with blending the various conflicting helmet designs.

    How so?

I do think a standalone novel would have been one of the most compelling Sith novels out there, bridging the gap between the ancient Sith and KOTOR eras. It would have allowed for an Indiana Jones or Planet of Lost Souls style tomb raiding adventure, accounted for the various retellings of his origin and explored a Sith who I think got what it meant to be Sith. Gain sufficient power to give you the resources any reasonable individual could need, and then work on the truly important things like arcane mastery and defeating death (and that, Nadd did a very good job of, what with his mastery of powers we see only Palpatine display such as planetary Force drain and Force storm, and of course his resilience and mobility as a ghost that we haven't seen in any other Sith). Some would call him a petty despot, but I more think he was a rational Sith not blinded by megalomania or unreasoned political ambition, rather like Darth Vectivus. And any Sith who banished his enemies rather than annihilating them with his dark side tendrils seems to be a fairer ruler than most, so I wouldn't be too surprised if his rule more resembled Arkadia Calimondra's than Daiman's or Odion's, which would go some way to explaining the resilience of his legacy as well.

maybe because it gives us a chance to say "They may take our lives, but they'll never take our Freedon" :D

Yet another high-selling item on the auction house. Between that and the returning casino event, I'm going to be running low on credits again in a few months. Though despite the ridiculous prices on the auction house, still prefer that to spending real money on cartel coins.

Wonder if we'll get any leaks, the next big announcement should be in a few more weeks at E3 or something like that.

Sounds interesting I will have to look him up. So he appeared in the Tales of the Jedi comic series then? The series with Nomi Sunrider and Naga Sadow?

    Here's his wookieepedia article: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Freedon_Nadd
Yup. Aside from his descendents, he's the first Sith to be mentioned and/or to appear in the EU.

What Austig meant to say was that we see his descendents, everyone talks about what he did when he was alive, and we see his ghost, but we never see him as a living person.

Well, technically Sith spirits, which is a bit of a different thing from Force Ghosts like Qui-Gon or Yoda. Sith Spirits are more fragmented and limited, and they're usually tied to specific locations, amulets, and such. It's not great, but it beats Force Hell.

Nadd wasn't tied to anything. He travels from Onderon to Korriban to Yavin.

It's interesting speculation, but it's undermined by the fact he manifests on Onderon prior to Kun breaching his relocated tomb, and then before Ulic Qel-Droma and the Ketos in his 'second death' throes.

I think it's more likely that the fact he was actively summoned from Chaos by Ommin's amulet meant that he was mobile like the Dark Underlord, the powerful magic of that summoning being sufficient to tether his spirit to the physical realm.

Freedon Nadd was an extremely powerful and underrated Sith Lord, however, possessing such recondite powers as Force storm. If Vitiate's ritual afforded his spirit great resilience and mobility as we see in TOR, then I think Nadd, who, like Palpatine, could (gradually) drain entire planets, could have performed a similar ritual that allowed him to roam as free as Obi-Wan's ghost after death.

    Yes and no, Dreadwar.

He manifests near his amulet treasure trove, when Ulic holds it, and then near his tomb before he anchors himself to Exar Kun. Lastly he created anchors attached to the Tetan siblings.

As a particularly powerful shade, Nadd seems to be able to create anchors post-death.

According to datamined info, the original Yavin IV storyline was bound to heavly feature Naga Sadow as main villian (players would be even able to speak with him) and as an Imperial you would fight him on Emperor's behalf.

    Thoughts?

And there are new soundtracks labeled with 4_0 for areas named Dreamscape and Zakuul City.

What's your source for this datamined info? If it's true, it explains the timeline video. Naga Sadow was awesome in that video and it had me looking forward to TOR. I couldn't wait to meet Sadow and find out what's going on.
