They don't pass through the Shire or Bree, though.

Interesting... apparently there was an isolated note in one of Tolkien's unpublished manuscripts that indicated that the remnants of the Dunedain of Arnor lived in the Angle, south of Rivendell.

Oh, well, buried in the History of Middle-earth, that explains it.

Nope, not even there. It's apparently in manuscripts only accessible at Marquette University, where the bulk of his papers are.

I'm starting to wonder if Havac has actually vanished mysteriously and been replaced by some sort of automated gif-posting program.

Lit can't repel humor of that magnitude.

It would explain their spending so much time there -- I always just had the impression they came down from the north because that was where Arathorn died, but if they patrolled the north then they'd have been passing through Rivendell on their way in and out.

Confession: I don't know what the current title is quoting. I do know that I miss "apropos of nothing" already.

In the vein that I ordinarily find something to comment about in your posts Zeta, I actually could not find anything.

    To start with.

    Humour not humor!

    Good times.

But otherwise you may enjoy my 'like'.

I can't tell if Havac has been driven insane yet or not. I'm beginning to wonder if that wasn't already his starting point.

I'd start talking about Fallout, but I think that's Coop's kryptonite, not his.

As long as we all continue to ignore the thing we all ignored, I'm good.

I imagine someone will tell me that the U's came after, for some reason. Unsurprisingly, I don't care much for rebel history.

*goes back to watching the anime Code Geass where the Empire won the War of Independence*

At this point it'd be easier to list the Social Thread topics that aren't my kryptonite.

So... anyone have any ideas on what exactly is the divergence point between our world and the world of Fallout?

What we know is that it has to come after the end of World War II, as history is the same up to that point; and it has to come prior to 1961, as the first US astronaut in space has a different name, a different space capsule, and is a member of the "USSA" (United States Space Administration). By 1969 at least, the American flag is also different.

How do we know that history is the same up to WWII?
