There we go!! Looking great!

I've been thinking for the left side (the guard's right shoulder), a bit of shadow (soft gradient to blend) along the outer rim of the shoulder and arm and a bit of highlight on the other shoulder side to round it out more and more depth.

Non-SW...I got a tablet and found an app that lets you use a pencil-like tool, I'm learning to use it!
Here is the result of that, a tribute to a wonderful musician and artist. This took about five hours.

Well, meet. And very emotional!

I went to the "Bowie Exhibition" here in Berlin at the Martin-Gropius-Bau, which was between 20 May until 10 August 2014. There I brought a paper mask, that shows the exact make-up as you have it on your painting. Since Bowie´s sudden death it hangs at my memo board in the entrance hall.

By the way husband DarthUncle went to the live memorial near Potsdamer Platz, where people held spontaneous speeches and sang his songs.

And our neighbour took photos of the entrance hall of the house he used to live in during his Berlin years. It was a touching see of flowers.

 

Glad Ewok Poet showed me this thread, everything in here is awesome! I love "Through the Flames" and this Queen Amidala portrait. The Bowie portrait is beautiful, too. Good stuff!
