A&A The Official Jason Fry Discussion Thread

We recently had Jason on our podcast and talked with him about Moving Target, The Weapon of a Jedi, The Secret Academy, and The Jupiter Pirates. Spoilers for all (and we definitely have to get Jason back on after December 18 to get his answers for some of our other questions ).

 

Rey's Survival Guide is cool and everything, but when are we getting Holshef's Poems?

 

Not major story stuff, but there are some tidbits that I hope give you more of a sense of the character. And the book complements some other upcoming things. Looking forward to being able to actually talk about this stuff!

 

Ha. That would be awesome. (And awesomely unlikely to happen.)

But you have inspired me to find a place for a Holshef poem as an Easter egg somewhere.

 

One thing is sure, jasonfry, you're keeping busy. Busy like an Endorian bee, if I might say so. And loads of new planets for future Atlas updates too! But that's another story.

Man, you are busy!

 

I am busy ... but that one isn't me despite the database listing saying so. Should be a few things that really are me hitting databases soon.

Since people ask, databases can be in error because schedules/plans/assignments get reshuffled, old info gets copied over, a potential author name gets used as a placeholder and not updated later, or sometimes it's just a mistake. It happens.

 

Question for folks: On Friday I'm not just appearing on a panel with fellow Star Wars authors but moderating it.

Would it be considered too dumb to ask Ryder Windham if he had an existing Design in mind when he mentioned the TIE infiltrator in the Death Star Owner's Technical Manual?

I guess the one question I'd have for Zahn, Stackpole and Ostrander is if asked, would they be willing to contribute any stories to the new canon? For Windham, I'd ask if he is considering writing any SW adult novels/comic series.

 

Will we get new canon post endor stories from these authors and which if any fanfavorite legends characters will or could be canonized in their opinion?

What do they think about the new canon material and what are their expectations for TFA?
