That is adorable. What species is it?

 

Leopard gecko, apparently. They got him an hour before I arrived, so the poor thing was still getting used to his terrarium. The kid also has two plain garden lizards and he tamed them to the point where I held one on my hand. He also has a couple of goldfish and a frog.

He used to have a hamster too, but since there is no AC in the apartment, the poor thing just died sometime in July, from the constant 40 C / 100 F heat.

And now I'm getting snapped at for wanting to raise my Pokemon my way, and not how everyone else demands I raise them.

 

Raise your Pokémon your way! If my brother can name a Manaphy GUTPUNCH you can totally have a Gardevoir named Hellboy.

 

If they want a Gallade named Hellboy, they can raise one themselves.

 

Currently listening to Dvořák's Requiem. It's quite a good piece, and seems to be arousing...interesting feelings...

 

I just got a Pachirisu named CRAPHOLE. I shall add that to my collection. They'll be in good company with the likes of Poopface, ButtButt, and a whole host of other Pokemon with names I can't repeat here.

I've been awake since early this morning. Mabel's asleep on my lap and purring and I'm getting sleepy. Had a nice haul from Wonder Trade, with three shinies and a Legendary. Traded off one of my extra Legendaries (I had five Latios, all from Wonder Trade), gave an extra shiny Furfrou to someone, and bounced a Meloetta for Dex info.

Now to raise Hellboy the Ralts and Queen the Combee.

 

Today is the anniversary of the Polytechnic Uprising against the Junta in 1973. I accompanied my nephew to the commemoration in his school and now I am seriously, seriously pissed off because that semi-fascist headteacher used the event for shameless political indoctrination of primary school kids. And then for good measure I had to listen to a choir of 7-year-olds massacre one of my favourite songs...

 

I hate it when that happens.

Still, this is also the anniversary of the one and only airing of the Star Wars Holiday Special!

 

I feel for some music from my youth

 

Jehovah's Witnesses stopped by again. This time, my Halloween decorations were put away (aside from the deer skulls; they're year-round) and I answered the door in Pac-man PJs and a basketball hoodie, so I wasn't as creepy.

 

TrakNar I've had people come to the door in their underwear before, the most awkward part of that was it was a girl I went to school with. I don't think she recognized me though, or at the very least didn't say anything. Thankfully my partner was an older woman who wasn't shocked by this.

I live in a rather rural area, deer skulls are a common site as are freshly killed deers waiting to be dressed.

 

Lene is actually a great singer.

 

It's been raining all day here and the National Weather Service just now released a flood warning. I'm looking at my backyard and thinking: "just now?"
