The internet when Finn and Rey share their first kiss.

 

Like most people I was kinda let down with Finn not being the new Jedi, but eh, its not that bad. Im more interested in seeing if Disney going to keep "Force Bond" as canon. Like Revan and Bastila, Kreia and Exile, and didnt Luke and Leia have one in the OT?

Also, about "Finns Confession" John. Williams didnt want to give Rey theme any hint at romance, but yet gave Finn one xD

 

Idk do you mean the fact that Finn's confession has rey's theme in it?

 

I don't get that either. It's like erasing Finn from the narrative 'Back to the Future' style and inserting their dark brooding fetish object in his place. I mean what in Kylos character makes him anything like Finn?

 

He wears black?

 

To be fair, it only ever plays when they're together--it's never solely used for Finn. I think that's pretty telling ; )

I'm tempted to go ask them because......he's CHOKING HER AGAINST A WALL. Look how involved he is with the grip. She also doesn't seem to be swooning. Also whats going on with her clothes. I think the core of that whole thing just domination fantasies.

After watching this video I am utterly convinced there is no way FinnRey is not a thing. Seriously this is great

People can deny it until they're blue in the face, but there is a clear set up here. No amount of lip bites or 'sexually-charged' interrogation scenes can stand up to all of that.

I feel like I'm going to look back at the 'Snoke is Plagueis' debates years from now and have a very similar reaction to the one I'm having over that thread.

 

To be fair, I could potentially see some people being fooled by the Sidious thing in TPM. If you didn't already know that Sheev becomes the Emperor (and his name is never actually uttered in the OT, so even more so if you'd only seen the films), then I could buy the confusion since Ian McDiarmid DOES do quite a good job of differentiating the "good Senator" from the evil Sith Lord.

I think that has to do with the fact that, within their dynamic, he is the 'romantic lead.' It's not that Rey loves him less than he loves her, it's just that Finn is the one who took the first step. In this movie, we saw a lot more of how he felt about her than we did how she feels about him. He sort of initiated their little 'thing', so he gets the romance theme attached to him. I expect to see more of the opposite in VIII, with Rey starting to better understand how she feels about Finn.

 

Normally I don't like these fanvids but this was super sweet. I love these two and there are just not enough clip uploads, lol. Damn dvd just get released already!

But this made me realize something I put zero thought into before. The reyloers talk a lot about that bridal carry. This video kind of demonstrated the real purpose of the bridal carry - for Finn to see it and chase them down, seeing the big evil crybaby that he knows is bad news carrying Rey away. Then the camera followed Finn running and screaming after them more than it focused on Kylo and Rey. That scene was there for Finn's arc.

 

Yeah and the music that was played was really "tragic/ominous-sounding" as well. Plus there's also a shot of BB-8 looking up at Kylo's ship and making one of his "concerned beeps."
