    I Are The Internets

    1. Grim Fandango (downloaded the remastered version, so I'm pumped to revisit the world)
    - I never played this one back in the day but I love these types of games. As a newcomer to the game, would you recommend that I buy it? .(I'm assuming yes since it's #1 on your list, but if you could sell me on it, I would love to hear your pitch.)

    2. Okami (the best console game ever made, has anyone played this masterpiece?)
    - I tried twice in my life to play this game and just thought it was too slow and I could not get into it. :(

    4. The Last of Us
    - I absolutely loved this game and I think everyone should experience it

OK a few of you have listed Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. You're quite wrong for liking these games.

So in Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight, Kyle has to make a decision. Does he use for the Force for knowledge and defence, or for attack?

This choice has something the millennial gamer doesn't like though - a consequence.

If you bashed civilians and were generally wicked in Jedi Knight, you would turn to the dark side and become Emperor. If you protected them, you would become a Jedi and defeat Jerec.

Be good = difficult but worth it.
Be a **** = easy but less satisfying.

So, of course, you get Jedi Outcast. The story is standard for the EU, which is to say breathtakingly stupid. The force is literally injected into people. It had very flashy saber combat, but if you just maxed Force Jump and Force Pull you could soar above enemies, pull them into the air and the fall would kill them. Yawn.

But you could be a Goodie Jedi but use Froce ligthening and forec choak but still be a Goodie.

    What the actual.

Why go to the trouble of showing the choice and consequences Kyle faced if it's all trivial? Because the new gamers saw the prequels and wanted to be flipping out space wizard ninjas, that's why.

Nothing except the combat mechanics in Outcast is worth mentioning, and quite frankly it's just not worth the mind-****ingly inane plot or conceits.

Please revise your lists without these terribad ones.

Sigh. No, Diggy, I'm clearing implying people who enjoy that lack of consequence and restraint are in fact mouth breathing r-tards.

I enjoyed Force Commander - certainly better than Age of Empires: Star Wars, but it's not in my top 5.

I agree that everything that came after Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight was infinitely inferior.
But the same goes for the 1983 Atari Arcade console. I mean.

OK, you order to do that Diggles.

I just saw I think Watto list Age of Empires: Star Wars and it made me think of ForCom. So ahead of its time.

EDIT: Watto, The Old Republic was fantastic.

    It was not.

    a) No Jason Court
    b) DRAK SIED powers are free to use and there's no risk of Kyle turning? Pfft.
    c) They literally used a staff to inject the Force into people
    d) You could just hit jump + forward + attack for autokill. Plus see above for Force Jump/Pull exploit.
    e) No Jason Court
    f) The plot. The villains. All so bad.

Currently playing? I dunno. Whatever, really. AC: Syndicate, Fallout 4, Crusader Kings II I guess. I jump to whatever I feel like playing at any given instant, which is why I never finish games.

    Top 5 SW?

    I. TIE Fighter
    II. X-wing Alliance
    III. Rebellion
    IV. Jedi Knight
    V. KOTOR

List composed almost entirely on replay value and/or lasting influence on me.

    Missa ab iPhona mea est.

I have basically decided, based on how terrible it is, to not finish Fallout 4. It's the low point in the Fallout RPG franchise.

Eh, I like it better than 3 and a certain other game I refuse to dignify by naming technically qualifies as an RPG, I think.

Yeah, I don't really understand why people praise KotOR II so much when it was a giant middle finger to anyone who bought it (including me). Good ideas don't make up for a horrible execution.

As I said in the other thread, I got bored of Fallout 4... and then I found some things I hadn't done yet (EGRET TOURS MARINA CAN BE A SETTLEMENT?!??!?!?!).

Star Wars games in no particular order:

    KotOR
Rebellion (also a mess but it's fun)
    Rogue Leader
    Jedi Outcast
    X-Wing Alliance

Rogue Leader still holds up with HD textures.
