Top 10 games in alphabetical order because there's no way I'm choosing only five or choosing a favorite.

    Chrono Trigger
    Deus Ex
    Doom
    Final Fantasy VI (III)
    Grand Theft Auto V
    Half-Life
    Jagged Alliance II
    Planescape: Torment

JAGGED ALLIANCE II!!! I <3 j00 Daveed. Remember Bull? And that guy who was permanently camo'd? I love that game so much.

    GTA V over IV though?

EDIT: My honourable mentions should include Baldur's Gate 2. Terrible of me to forget.

GTA V is a better game. Better content, better executed, better driving. Just better.

Yeah, I agree with Luigi. IV is fantastic, but V edges out in every single category.

GTA V is the better game. Far better protagonists, excellent variety of guns, the most diverse the vehicles have ever been, excellent story inspired by Sopranos and Heat, First Person Mode.

It won be back to the franchise after it lost me at GTA III.

I don't know; GTA IV's immersion was pretty comprehensive and partially that was driven by the personality of Niko Bellic. Sure, "Cousin! Let's go bowling" was annoying but you never had the sense that Michael, Franklin or Trevor were that complex as people. Niko has two major decisions to make in the game, and both of them have consequences. Plus in really challenging the American dream with respect of how migrants see it vs how it plays out, the ending is just so brutally downbeat.

Consider this for a second and note - I am still playing GTA Online. I love what Los Santos has to offer and if the update that dropped yesterday means I can upgrade all my sports cars to the Supers class so they look like GT3 cars... I'm there. TAEK ALL MY MONEYS R*

EDIT: Wait, seriously? The protagonists are better than Niko? o_O

Three playable characters in story mode was one of the best things they ever did.

I'd agree that Nico is a better protagonist, but GTA V has 3 protagonists. I think that IV probably has the better story, but story is a small part of a GTA game, let's be honest.

I also think that GTA V is maybe too big? It's great, I love losing time all around San Andreas, but there's a lot of nothing out there.

Plus, the mod potential for V is huge. There are great mods for IV but V already has things like a cop simulator and things like that. Plus the movie maker is not bad.

I'm just wanting to see how they're better. Trevor's an unrepentant psychopath with no redeeming features. Franklin and Michael are clichés and for someone who is so opposed to getting back in the life Michael is basically all in.

Three protagonists were great but the sum of all three of them isn't a fifth of Niko.

Plus just look at the video. Tell me GTA IV doesn't have so many areas where it's just better.

EDIT: Luigi, the copy simulator exists for GTA IV too - Liberty City First Responders vs Los Santos First Responders.

Guys, guys, you're not allowed to have a differing opinion to Ender, especially in the threads he created. So can you all please revise your opinions to be in line with his, lest he start quoting RPG stats at you. Thank you for your co-operation.

I guess for me what V lacks, GTAO brings. I just checked. 35 days play time. Sigh.

When I had it on the 360 I played it all the time. Unfortunately I traded my One copy in some time ago, because I don't know why.

I prefer V because it's not a terrible PC port and I can shoot up L.A. freeways.

I seriously never bothered with swimming. The skills I always focused on:

    - Lock pick

    - Electronic tool

    - Pistol

    - Sniper Rifle

    - Medipack

    - Hacking

Max those out as much as you can and you have a licence to kill.

    *shrugs*

All part of saving the world.

Ok, my one bitch gripe with Deus Ex - they didn't give you the option to take the assignment to assassinate Tracer Tong. Instead, it's scripted that you go to your Brother's aid. Give me the option dammit and let me earn my Majestic Twelve badge, dammit!

re: gta v vs. gta iv

i remember when 5 came out, the thing i was looking forward to most was countryside helicopter mayhem. the helicopter controls were so wonderful in 4, the way you could take off, tilt your rotors down and just drive down the street mowing down civilians. i was really looking forward to doing that in the hills of blaine county, but with cows. sadly, as i discovered launch night, they nerfed the helicopter controls to where they weren't so fine-tuned, and any attempts at said hijinks only resulted in sad hijinks.
