There's a new feature in GTAO, released as part of a recent update. You can become a VIP, and hire other players as bodyguards. In doing this you can make all members of your organisation friendly. You can still bash them with melee, but you can't hurt them.

This means people now climb onto helo rotors to be thrown as you start the engine up. Or jump off small ledges onto the spinning rotors to be thrown for hundreds of metres.

my best friend and i grew up playing gta together. like. all of them (since 3 anyways). hundreds of hours. i can't tell you how much time we spent in 4 wedging cars into the glitchy swingset and seeing how far we could launch them (the key to not getting thrown out is to make sure you have roman with you, for some reason).

There was a glitchy driveway gate somewhere close to Michael's house that would do that in V. I don't know if they've patched it or not.

To whomever mentioned Okami... I do have this game and always wanted to play it, but I only have it for Wii. I actually have a number of Wii games I'd really like to play of only they allowed you to play with real controllers.

As to top five games... Yeah not sure I can narrow it down, but here are my non-SW ones, in no order:

    Uncharted 3
    Mass Effect 2
    Shenmue
    Assassin's Creed: Revelations
    The Last of Us
    Heavy Rain
    Perfect Dark
    Ocarina of Time
    The Walking Dead
Until Dawn (obviously the most recent addition)

That turned out, happily, as a top ten.

He's Spanish, so his hand is always out for more. Lousy socialists.

SJ claims Dutch heritage, so she ought be thrifty.

Also I'm really sorry guys I didn't anticipate anyone to take it seriously. Like if anything I was expecting and or hoping I'd get an extra 5 to teach me a lesson.

    Way to ruin Christmas jaypes.

Well, on the other side is Scottish heritage. So really with those two combined, by your logic shouldn't I be posting 0 out of 5 games?

I'm not much of a gamer these days, and my PC is now ancient and has no hard drive space left. However, I still play Civ II (completed a game only two days ago), and I started playing Transistor on my iPad at Christmas, though I've barely spent a hour playing it so far - sound and graphics are lovely, though.

    Star Wars Games:
    Tie Fighter
    Dark Forces
    Republic Commando
    X-Wing
    Dark Forces II

Top 5 games of all time:
    Civ II
    Far Cry
    Star Quake
    Elite
    Doom

Team Fortress 2 is the only multiplayer game I've played and I was quite addicted to it for a while, but I've not played it in maybe two years. I was really enjoying BioShock, but I stopped playing that near the end when I got frustrated keeping the Little Sister alive. Freespace 2 was perhaps the best space-combat simulator ever, though it totally ripped-off Tie Fighter in the process.

This x100. I tried playing GTA IV a couple of years ago shortly after V came and...god, it was horrible. Simply atrocious shooting, driving, everything. And to this day I hate the really **** endings Niko that basically punished him severely regardless which choice he made leading to the endgame. Anyhoo, IMO, GTAV made the previous game look so dated it's simply ridiculous.

Well to be fair, there was a reason Niko's outcomes were as they were...

Revelations? Interesting. I've never seen anyone claim that as their favourite before I don't think.

The memories! Though I played CT and FF6 years afterwards as I never had a SNES. And still not played Half-Life.

Happy to see Darth Guy mention FF12 though, I really liked that game and seem to recall it's not as well regarded?

*sighs* Everytime I see Half-life mentioned I die a little inside because that *** **** Gabe Newell apparently thinks it's not worth his time to properly wrap up the franchise that put his company on the freaking map.

Ender Sai, yeah, I know. Niko's fortunes could be seen as part of the game's theme regarding the American dream biting people in the ass, or just karma screwing him over because of past mistakes. But still, it was just a bit too depressing.

I mean, if that's honestly Gabe Newell's opinion he's probably not wrong from a financial standpoint. :p

Anyway a top five, in alphabetical order because otherwise it'd be a hassle:
    • Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
    • Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
    • Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
    • Shin Megami Tensei II
    • Rune Factory 3
No honorable mentions because that's a rabbit hole of endless namedrops.

So instead - Dishonorable Mentions: Daikatana, The lack of a good Fire Emblem IV translation, Record of Agarest War, Suikoden IV, Wizardry IV: The Return of Werdna

I lost interest in Fallout 4 mainly due to repeat/infinite quests. Preston is the worst at that. Guy has OCD. I beat the main quest and had absolutely no desire to go back.

FO4 is much better if you play it as The Sims: Post-Apocalyptic Edition.

    Source: watching my wife play.

Send Preston to a settlement you never visit and don't turn in the Minutemen quests to him; they'll complete automatically after a game day as long as you helped the settlers. And do side quests. Some of them are the best parts of the game. Playing a Bethesda(-style) game and just doing the main quest is missing the majority of the content.

I have fond memories of all of those. :p

Well, never played demolition or Teras Kasi at length -- just at stores. My understanding is that they're actually terrible, but I never played them long enough to realize that so my brain thinks they were cool.

But TPM was hilarious for the reasons you already covered and JPB was fun in group play.

I will post my list soon enough, but here's a great clip (interview with gameplay footage) regarding the forthcoming re-release / remaster of my favourite game of all time.
