Jedi Status Rank- Why did everyone go down??

So I noticed this in the afternoon, and it seems a bit odd that nearly every user had a dramatic de-ranking as far as their Jedi status.

I was once Force Ghost, now I am simply a Jedi Master.

What's going on??

 

Yeah, I just noticed this too. Jedi Grand Master to Jedi Knight....ouch.

 

We upped the thresholds on the user ranks since they were (still) at levels more appropriate to defaults on the old temp boards than they were here. So whereas previously you might see a separation of 20-30 points between a few ranks, it's now more like 100-200. Your actual point totals were unaffected.

 

What are the new thresholds?
(The old ones were perfectly fine IMO)

 

Jedi Youngling - 0 Points
Jedi Padawan - 50 Points
Jedi Knight - 100 Points
Jedi Master - 250 Points
Jedi Grand Master - 500 Points
Force Ghost - 750 Points
Chosen One - 1000 Points
[Secret] - 2500 Points
[Secret] - 5000 Points

Previously we capped out at 500, for comparison.

I'm glad. I didn't like being a Force ghost. There's not much to do as a ghost. You just sit there and chill.

I wonder if this has anything to do with why it's kinda dead in the threads lately. At least compared to normal.

 

Maybe having the "10000 likes = trophy" awards carry on up, instead of the huge gap between 10000 and 50000, would encourage people to make especially interesting posts?

 

Yeah, also why only ''Jedi'' ranks ? We should able to choose ''Sith'' ranks as well.

 

Well, we didn't actually get to choose Jedi ranks either. They are just there. I don't mind them; I'm just pointing that out.

Besides, I have the memory of a goldfish; I can't remember what mine said on the day before the change.

 

Here is a list of the old cutoffs (missing "Chosen One - 500 points"). So you would have been a Chosen One before the change.

Getting back to Chosen One will take longer though, sadly.

 

We have the rest of our lives at least.

 

I'd have liked to get the 1 vs 1 and the Double or Nothing trophies - would have reduced the timeframe a bit - but my posts just aren't that likeable - and it's cheating to get a Sock and Like one's own posts.

 

The ranks are already sith enough as it is, without adding more to it.
