I was introduced to Star Wars after the SEs came out, but I saw the original ROTJ first. I believe in preserving the original films but I think Victory Celebration captures the bittersweet feel of the saga better.

I never saw the originals (my dad had 'em but i never watched the Star Wars until the '97 SE came out) so I'm going to go with Victory Celebration.

I gotta say, I'm partial to yub nub, although I know it can sound a little ridiculous when you first hear it. Victory Celebration sounds less silly, but I vote yub nub.

I may have answered in this thread already, but I need to get it out of my system again: 'Victory Celebration'. All day, every day.

I prefer the "Victory Celebration" version (both in music and in visuals).

Victory Celebration. I cannot stand Yub Nub, and consider it one of the worst JW cues out there. Even if we do get a UOT bluray release, I am okay with them keeping this change.

Then it wouldn't be a UOT bluray release.

    Victory Celebration

That's the version I'm primarily heard since 1997, aka 19 or of the 24 years of my life. Yub Nub always sounds off to me, but that's just because I am much more used to the Victory Celebration. I feel sympathy for those who feel the other way. It's unfortunate for you guys who do prefer Yub Nub.

To add to my preference, I also like the inclusion of other locations of the saga visibly celebrating the death of the Emperor. It helps the Rebellion's victory of the Battle of Endor feel more impactful, especially taking the saga into view, not just the original trilogy. I can easily see how Yub Nub worked with just taking into account ANH and TESB way back before my years.

The original Yub Nub. Hearing the victory celebration sounded off to me having grown up with the original.

Yub Nub. not because it's the original or the version I saw first but it just suits the scene better. People celebrating are the mainly the Ewoks and some rebels. Endor is their planet so it just fits. The Victory Celebration music is just too plain and weak. The bad CG populated planets don't help either. I dont remember seeing Tatooine that crowded since the boonta eve classic and highly doubt that they would care that much about celebrating the empire's defeat. Afterall Tatooine is in the outskirts and ruled by the hutts, the empire has minimal presence there.

Yub Nub! Let the Ewoks bring the party. They fought and paid for it.

I just can't abide that pan pipe moods stuff. Sounds like music they used to play on segments of the Holiday show with Judith Charmers. Or at a cirque de soleil show.

Yub Nub. Victory Celebration is the worst thing Williams has written for a Star Wars movie.

Victory Celebration is a better fit for a cocktail party in The Lion King. John Williams probably wrote and orchestrated it on a napkin on the plane to the recording session. The hasty, awkward transition to the end credits definitely gives that impression.
