EPIC - Life changing and movies I will alway love, rewatch etc and probably prefer over any other movie ever released. Hate choosing with these 3 as I love them all and the order really doesn't do justice as I will feel like watching one over the other at different times. Saw ESB on open day after lining up for hours when I was about 11 and it made an impact that can't ever move it from #1.

Awesome - Loved for currency and for keeping the dream alive. Not sure how they will survive the test of time of if they can make the same impact as OT did. They could do. I think RO will have longevity cause of the tie in to OT. TFA is unknown and really depends on how well its has set up the new trilogy.

I agree with B99, kinda hard to rank it so soon after seeing it when emotions are still high. At the moment it's anywhere between 3rd and 5th for me, but I went with 5th because my ratings usually drop after a while.

Just saw it tonight, so this may change, but I would do:

1.) Empire

3.) Rogue One/TFA (Rogue one I have have "enjoyed" more initially, but TFA was a great achievement for so many other reasons)

7.)AotC

(And I enjoy all of the films)

 

Hard to rank it after one viewing. But its going to be near impossible to beat the original and Empire - purely because they've had so long to become engrained on us and that despite the fact they are classics anyway. The same is true to a degree for Jedi too, even though its the weakest of the OT its still one of the best action movies ever. But I must admit I really enjoyed watching RO and it had no immediate issues that jumped out at me and I think in time RO will be highly regarded and be ranked somewhere in amongst the OT as a fans favourite. Ask again in 40 years if I'm still around when RO has had some time to bed in

It's very difficult to rank, because - for me - Rogue One wasn't a story that needed to be told and I didn't really care about the fate of the characters or the Death Star plans, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.(Now, the structure of The Force Awakens was way too similar to a New Hope, but I really, really enjoyed the characters.)

Also bear in my mind that there is only one Star Wars film that I actually dislike: Episode II. The rest I'm fine with.

3. The Phantom Menace (8/10, yeah I know, but that's how I feel))
4. The Force Awakens (8/10)
5. Revenge of the Sith (7/10)
6. Rogue One (7/10)
7. Return of the Jedi (6.5/10)
8. Attack of the Clones (5/10)

 

Check my signature. It seems that I rank RO low, but I don't. It's a quality movie. I just like the others more.

As others have mentioned, it's hard to decide at this point. Anyway, I think I know roughly where it'll end up:

Putting it above AOTC because I feel it is the more consistent film. Will see how that holds up on rewatch; But RO will certainly be either my 3rd or 4th favourite.

It's also heightened my enjoyment of ANH. The first 1/3rd of that movie now has so much more weight behind it for me.
