The Force Theme: Your Favorite Cues? [Archive Inside]

I know that Binary Sunset from ANH is undoubtedly a touchstone, but there are many others that are equally memorable.

- Luke using the Force to reach out to Leia in ESB
- Vader's funeral pyre in ROTJ
- Qui-Gon plunging his lightsaber into the blast doors in TPM
- Anakin saying goodbye to Padme on Tatooine in AOTC
- Anakin and Obi-Wan's starfighters arriving at the Battle of Coruscant in ROTS
- Rey finding Luke in TFA

 

You're forgetting the triumphant arrangement used during the medal ceremony in ANH.

 

Obi-Wan and Anakin on Mustafar

 

When Obi-Wan departs to Utapau and when Anakin kills Sidious.

 

My favorite is actually from TCW. It's on the track "Ahsoka Saves Anakin."

 

I also like the brassy fanfare version when the X-wings swoop down on the Death Star at Yavin.

 

The triumphant statement backed by heraldic trumpets heard as the Starkiller base explodes.

 

Fixed. The "Scrambling the Rebel Fleet" cue is only on the soundtrack.

 

The spine tingling rendition that appears during TLJ.

But the only times that the Force theme plays while Vader is on screen is at the conclusion of his and Obi Wan's duel on the Death Star, and at the climactic moment that he turns on the Emperor.

Am I right?

Star Destroyer Bridge, just for the usage. I get chills every time from that epic transition into the imperial march.

I can't pick a favorite, but I just want to put in a plug for the brassy fanfare version as the X-wings draw fire. To me, that is The Force charging into battle.

this was actually played during the implosion of Starkiller base, you get an excellent version of the force theme as a new star is born.

The action variant that plays at the start of ROTS, complete with a constant backing layer of war drums.

 

I much prefer the Light of the Force arrangement to Binary Sunset. And the tracking of Burning Homestead in The Force Awakens gave me chills in the cinema.

 

Leia's News/Light of the Force is a thing of beauty.

Commander_Andersen Me too with Burning Homestead in TFA. I froze during multiple theater viewings.

Prime Jedi, it's called one thing on the "Soundtrack Anthology" from 1993 and another on the Special Edition soundtracks from 1997.

 

I can't rank my favorites, music choices depend on my mood at that moment. Rey's theme is currently my favorite ear worm. It doesn't resolve, which makes it feel forever hopeful and forward looking.
