So apparently the big announcement teased on twitter is that the new Thrawn book is getting a comic book adaption, starting in February 2018.

    :D

EDIT: is it an adaptation or just a comic with the same name?

It's an adaptation of the novel, same writer as the Rogue One adaption. The artist is Luke Ross, who recently did the artwork for the Darth Maul comic.

Someone on Twitter asked Heather if it's the same story of Zahn's Thrawn novel or something new, and she replied "Both". [face_thinking]

That's good to hear, I'm glad it will have some new story within it. I'm curious how many issues it will be.

Maybe this thrawn comic will start out as the adaption of the novel then if it sells maybe it'll have a second original arc detailing his exploits during the OT (Come on like Rebels is going to kill him off)

Since this is a miniseries, probably 5 issues.

That's a whole lot of content for five issues. I hope they can break the format for this.

Could've been like how Kanan was but set between Season 3 episodes or between Zero Hour, after victory at Atollon, and Season 4.

Are we sure it is an actual adaption of the novel or just a min series taking place during the same time the novel covers. Heather just said it was a Thrawn miniseries. Someone else on her twitter said it was an adaption.

I'm guessing "both" means we'll get to see why Eli went into the Unknown Regions, and maybe some hints about what he does there.

Man, i'm looking forward to this mostly for the art. Gonna be nice getting an official appearance for some of the characters, locations, and ships from the book.

The epilogue of Palpatine promoting Thrawn to Grand Admiral can take it's visual cue from the corresponding Legends scene in TIE Fighter:

And if the comic version of the Epilogue cuts out all mention of Death Star 1, we can just pretend this comic fits in with the EU ;)

Damn! I would have enough content for a Thrawn shrine now! :D I did read part of the Heir to the Empire comic but compared to the book I wasn't too fond of it due to how different it looked in my mind. Still looking forward to this, hope it brings in new fans of Thrawn now that it's a new visual representation of him adapted from a Zahn story. :)
