It seems to imply the dark deities were the originals, and the Ones threw them down.

So sort of like the Titans and Zeus and his siblings and what not?
The Pre-Republic era just gets more and more interesting.

This is quite fascinating especially the references to the Trans dimensional beings Leia encountered-Splendid Ap among them.

It seems that the ancient Galaxy was an even more mysterious and forboding place than what we already knew

Makes you wonder if the Killik Sith Lord was called Gorog - what with him ending up on Sarafur; near Endor.

Let alone Waru being among this Dark Pantheon.

And the sum of them locked in Otherspace.

I thought Waru was from some sort of parallel universe?

The article says this is the case, but lumps that the double trinity was driven to Otherspace.

If fans want to continue on from these stories they can. This was unpublished work that had been sitting around for well over a decade and was simply uploaded to a fan site. Nothing wrong with that. This was the avenue that legends should have been focusing on all along instead of trying to get Del Rey to do stuff.

So we think the line of galactic domination went Dark Gods/Old Ones -> Celestials -> Rakata -> Everyone else, then, basically?

In that case I'm wondering if Wutzek (who was stated to be from a race that once controlled the Galaxy) and the Mnggal-Mnggal (who is noted to be similar to Waru and whom the Celestials took great pains to lock away) might be Old Ones too.

I liked it, expanded on the lore and such. Very interesting to hear more from the Pius Dea, especially how it came to power in a similar fashion to the Empire as I always saw the Pius Dea as a sort of an ideological basis for the Empire's New Order. I also agree with @jamminjedi23. I'd rather have some unreleased stuff like this get released, maybe even some bits of Sword of the Jedi? Please?

Better than the shlock that would come from a Legends timeline in Disney's hands, unless they gave Luceno, Zahn and hell even Traviss full control over its creation.

    Seems very likely.

Did anyone else pick out the dark side connections to these; Dark Jedi and Sith have connections to almost all of them in the modern era... Kreia’s warning of the True Sith anyone?

What about the force demons that seemed to hold sway before the celestials?

Yeah a part of me is hesitant regarding a legends revival given what Disney has done so far. Better to let it rest. Or as I have always said give information such the death dates, marriages, and so on of major characters left hanging.

This made my day! I remember reading DevilWorlds and wondering how this would fit into the EU.

I don't understand why legends can't continue with new stories.

I mean dont marvel and DC have hundreds of universes and earths. Alternate timelines and such.

There's still a thirst for the legends so----why not have legends material???

To me it seems like the Dark Gods ARE the Rakatans. The demon is a Force Hound going rogue, maybe Xesh. Alternatively, they were the Vong's first encounter with the mainline Galaxy.

I'm creating an AU version of the Post NJO series. DNT/LOTF/FOTJ are similar to what happened but are different. Throwing around idea of Abeloth returning during Kol Skywalker's lifetime and then the rest of the Pantheon return during the Legacy comic era. Shrug. Going to be fun working this out.

make Jacen a different character and make the "real Jacen" gone on his journey (which isn't given a duration in TUF, obviously)

I actually liked how Jacen was written in DNT as an anti-hero, except for it being a non sequitur

The Vong part is unlikely. It took them millennia to reach the GFFA. With scouts reaching the galaxy(presumably with the main fleet still being deep in the void) around the KOTOR era.

My personal timeline is that the cremlevian war occurred around 15,000 BBY. And it took the Vong nearly ten thousand years to get close to the GFFA. With the main fleet probably being not far from the companion galaxies in the last century before the clone wars and reaching the end of the Galaxy by 30-26 BBY.

Someone will just make a fanfic post-Crucible called the Snoke Trilogy. Snoke will be brought into Legends and will kill off the Big 3 (Luke, Han and Leia). These will be the Legends version of the ST:
    7: Heir to the Emperor
    8: First Order Rising
    9: Snoke's Last Command

At the end of each episode, Snoke or one of his minions kills a member of the Big 3.

At the end of the trilogy, Jaina will kill Snoke and the First Order will be reduced to a footnote by the time of SW: Legacy, other than that they killed Luke, Han and Leia. Jaina will allow Snoke's Knights of Ren to find redemption in the Fel Empire as Imperial Knights, and lead straight into SW: Legacy.

    :p

To be fair I and two other GMs took almost every idea expressed here and continued the story after Legacy II to 155 ABY as an RP of 30-40 players.

It had a group of Sith trying to unleash Typhojem from his seal under the Well of the Dark Side in Mortis - but the heroes were Sith who rather unsurprisingly didn’t want to share their galaxy with eldritch horrors. Absolute fun - on these very forums actually. It’s to hand for anyone to read, if they so wish.

The Cremlevian War did end in 15,000 BBY, I thought.

Lol I once wrote a couple of chapters following a family of Jedi sent into the Unknown Regions (though were stranded with a damaged hyperdrive from a random pirate attack that prevented them from going a few light years before shutting down) around three-four decades after the 138 ABY and the defeat of Darth Krayt. They run into a group of One Sith led by Darth Talon who is set up in the Unknown Regions and decide to remain and smash it to pieces and find a relay to warn the GAT. It was kinda Lost in Space ish with the family being:
    - The father: Jedi Master, member of the Council, overall commander of the mission, led peacekeeping operations in the Mid Rim.
    - The mother: Jedi Master, healer, second-in-command, in charge of logistics.
    - The eldest son: Jedi Knight, newly knighted at the time, expert navigator and comm specialist, has a thing for droids though a bit clumsy.
    - The middle daughter: Jedi apprentice, co-pilot, served in Rogue Squadron for a few months to learn piloting.
    - The youngest daughter: Jedi apprentice, medic in training, learning healing but rarely does much considering she's only 14.
    - The pilot: descendant of Wedge Antilles, Galactic Alliance lieutenant, assigned to pilot their ship.
    - The droid: bodyguard droid assigned to defend the family, has had excellent results prior to reassignment.

Wasn't there something in FOTJ about Legacy only being a possible future, or did I dream that?
