I saw TFA 7 times plus if you count Star Wars celebration I saw it 8 times in theaters.

This is like a devil and angel situation.

 

I would, if it didn't presumably cause a neural misfire which results in a high degree of pain I consider rather unpleasant

Literally just a comment that said all the prequel characters were 1 dimensional and had no arc, and the Anakins fall to the dark side was only shown in TCW show. All of this said by a guy who had a Ben Kenobi profile pic.

Sometimes I worry about this fanbase becoming immune to understanding these films.

 

If they're one dimensional then what do they think about the sequel trilogy characters? Zero dimensional? We still don't know the protagonist's motivation, she's so bland and generic.

 

Well it was to find her family.

 

She wasn't looking for them. She was just waiting instead of being proactive and use her amazing piloting skills to do something. Even little Ani is more proactive than that.

 

Rey's motivations to become a Jedi are practically non-existent if we follow what the movies say- It's all a quest to know about her parents yet it seems like the answer is simply one that brings nothing forth to the story (unlike the Vader revelation in ESB).

 

Speaking of the Last Jedi how did you all like Luke’s portrayal.

 

It might be realistic but it's boring. If she realizes in the beginning of the movie she should go look for them, then runs into Resistance, maybe needs to decide whether to continue her search or to help the good guys then she becomes an interesting protagonist who's driving the story as opposed to being so passive. Of course, her background needs to be better established. If she was sold for money as a kid, how did she gain her independence? Where did she learn all these mad skillz? Overachievers always have a high motivation, what's hers if she's not even actively looking for her parents? Does she have friends at all? Just compare her to Luke or Anakin and you'll see what I mean.

@Jedi Knight Fett I hated Luke's portrayal. Full character assassination.

 

In other news- what a DAY!!!

Hopefully the signing of Alexis Sanchez means Manchester United will go back to win similar to how Cantona's signing in the 90's affected us.

Of course, given the chance to join a club with no history like City, and the likes of United, the choice is obvious meesa thinks!

Also the fact that they got Alexis to play the piano is so damn epic the video gives me chills

Yeah I wouldn't go so far into that-

Mark did what he was asked to do- not exactly his fault.

Ryan seems like a very nice guy, but in general I simply don't like his direction of the story (or JJ's) at all.
