What do I need to do to get Set Harth recanonized? He was the best "smaller character" in Star Wars ever. (Smaller as in not appearing much at all.)

JJ: So, Rian and I never actually figured out who the Knights of Ren are. Rian suggests they might be fallen students of Luke. I guess it doesn't matter, Rey's going to Force push them into a volcano in my current draft. And I can't just alter some old EU names, everyone saw through that Kybo/Kylo Ren business last time. Hey--story group! Tell me who the Knights of Ren are!

Leland and Pablo: Ok JJ, let's watch TFA. We see 6 of them other than Kylo. We'll pull some names from the EU, the fans will just love this!

Story Group: The 6 Knights of Ren are--Corran Horn, Kyle Katarn, Jaden Korr, Streen, Tionne, and Mara Jade.

JJ: Wow, half a dozen EU characters! The fans will really love this! I'll start shooting the scene now where they slice up a village with Kylo. And these guys are Jedi students just like in the EU. The fans will appreciate how we're really being true to these characters.

Leland: I'll announce on twitter that half a dozen EU characters are going to be canonized! They can't say we're ignoring the EU now!

Note: Personally I just want legends characters to rest and not be brought back for token fan service.

But that's my admittedly biased opinion.

 

Speaking of altering EU names, I still wonder whether Jan Ors/Jyn Erso was an accident.

 

I suspect that most of the recannonization we'll see is via the Solo movie with Shrike and the other characters from Han's traditional EU backstory.

Beyond that we MIGHT see Rendar, Xizor, and minor characters, but I'd be absolutely floored if major players like Mara, Kyle, Talon, and the rest made appearances. And I'm ok with that. Though it would be nice if they decided to start putting out two legends novels per year for those of us who still care about that universe. (also more EU Black Figures please)

Xizor is the most likely. They already teased the prominence of the Black Sun in Rebels using Ketsu Onyo.

 

Actually who Rebels really needed was Garm bel Iblis... It would have been great to weave him into that and the Solo movie...

 

I think Garm became Saw Gerrera. Their characters are similar minus a few key differences. (Mainly that Garm was a senator)

 

Garm's schtick was never really extremist as contrasted to Mon Mothma though. It was mainly about his fear that she was power-hungry, not that she had more moral qualms than he did.

 

Honestly aside from disliking Mon Mothma I'm not seeing a lot of similarities.

 

Cody Sunn-Childe (before his disappearance) fits better as "Rebel who was so bloodthirsty that the rest of the Rebels became disgusted".

 

So the pieces begin to fall into place Jerec is Snoke. It would be perfect.

 

If Obi Wan can have a love affair with the queen of Mandalore and Anakin can have trained an apprentice between episode 2 and 3 I don’t see why Luke couldn’t have had a love interest in the 30 year gap between trilogies. No reason to assume it can’t happen.

 

I strongly disagree. She was already an interesting character being the Hand of the Emperor and later turned mercenary after the Empire fell.
