This is kind of arbitrary and not ST related, no?

 

Rey is clearly the best after 3 days and no training.

In a month she could take out Sidious and Yoda combined!

 

We get it. You don’t buy that a girl who carries a staff with her and grew up in conditions arguably even tougher than what Anakin endured and for longer couldn’t learn to fight — even if it’s how she survived — without the Jedi Order helping her. You’ve made that clear.

Rey is not leading the top 3 for people under 25 with a saber you’ll be happy to know.

 

It’s something to talk about and more focused on saber combat which is always fun to discuss. Focused on the young ones in the saga because the old guys would dominate and the list would be huge. Also keeps it more within the earlier stages of development where some of the new characters of the ST can be compared and shown for how much further they have to go to get to the levels of other young savants with sabers.

 

There's a clear winner here. Anakin straight up destroys Dooku 1v1 in RoTS. That was pure skill as well, not the force awakening in him like with Rey vs Kylo

 

It’s a tragedy we never got to see how good Zett Jukassa could have become. That much talent and skill at that age was incredible and could have made him truly special in his early twenties. The kid also had no fear and who knows what other badass stuff he did prior to us seeing him there.

 

I also like that you see him change his style and truly leverage his strengths while in AOTC, he was making a futile attempt to beat Dooku at his own game.

 

Rey, Luke, Obi-Wan. Kinda bobbled for a minute there between Anakin and Obi-Wan but had to go with Obi-Wan in Phantom Menace because, y'know, Anakin lost. But it was close.

Luke in ROTJ should totally be leading the poll, FYI. Dude took down Darth Vader.

Vader was conflicted at the time, and Luke had to tap into the dark side. Vader wasn't fighting 100% and Luke used Easy mode.

How do we know Darth Maul was 25 or under?

 

We don't, actually. According to Legends, he was 22 years old in TPM, but in current canon, his age has yet to be established (going by Wookieepedia).

 

Obi Wan is actually 14 years old in ANH. People age a lot slower, and he only looks old due to stress/death stick usage.

 

This is such a narrow poll. The best duelists are over 25

 

Is there a reason Kylo isn't listed? His crossguard saber disqualifying?
nm, I he's > 25 but why not up the age to include him since this is as of TLJ?

 

That's precisely the point though. Most of the ST cast is younger, including its stars, so it's more about seeing how the youngest saber users all compare. It's very clear from the poll that the people who underwent more traditional Jedi or Sith training DO have a significant advantage over even someone who grew up with a staff and had to fight to survive much of her life.

Even Zett Jukassa, who might only be like 9 years old, is blocking blaster shots with his saber and performing moves with his saber we've never seen Rey do. She's remarkably gifted and her harsh upbringing and years having to fight for food, and that abandoned walker, gave her a stronger foundation and starting point than what Luke had, but despite her remarkable Force connection (Call it Midi count if you want to imagine it that way) and years of fighting, and likely practicing, Anakin, Maul, and Obi-Wan remain far more advanced at roughly the same age.

People can be upset that she's this gifted but we've clearly seen better at the same age (and even younger) so while the gap may not be as wide as some Rey haters would like it to be... it still exists.

 

Oh, I agree anyone saying that Rey could beat any of these characters minus Zett and Finn of course are just not really thinking about the other characters.

 

I think even a case could honestly be made for Zett. Like I said, he's probably like 9 years old here. Watch his Force jumps and how quickly he basically kills 6 x Jango Fetts and then deflects like 9-12 blaster shots coming at him at once, and even redirects one into a 7th Jango Fett and then redirects one final shot into an 8th Jango Fett before being overwhelmed by like 20 blasts coming at him at once from different areas. Plus, who knows how many others he took out on his way out? You can see other troopers chasing after him out of the entrance/exit. He likely took out more inside. This could just be the end of his fighting. He could have been kicking butt inside even more. Rey hasn't shown that kind of saber ability obviously either. There's clearly still a gap that exists. It's just not as wide as some out there would like.

 

Gee Anakin would slaughter Rey without even trying.....
