I hope we get some Hot Toys from this movie. I don't believe anything has been announced as of yet.

I'd be down for hot toys of Han, Chewie and Lando. Maybe the villain too.

Hasbro have posted their 2017 financial report, and in amongst there is a change in strategy regarding their SW release window. Essentially, we should expect future movie merchandise launches to begin when the promotional activity does. So around a month out, as in Solo's case.

"Going forward, merchandise on-shelf dates will be closer to movie promotional activity and premiere dates. Importantly, STAR WARS remains a tremendous property and opportunity – one in which Hasbro is deeply committed. In 2017, STAR WARS ranked as the #1 global property in the toy and game industry, according to NPD, and we look forward to driving this success for years to come."

Frankly, that's a great idea. It worked for TFA. The first Star Wars in ten years, people were HUNGRY for it. Clearly that wasn't the case for R1 or TLJ. The toys for that film are still flooded over the shelves. They burnt out that initial demand, then kept flooding the stores with it, not knowing if the demand would still be there after the film. This solution is going to hopefully help. Wait, see what buyers really want, and plan accordingly. Launching closer to the film will hopefully lessen the chances of another Zuuvio too.

I just want better variety. Droids, aliens, secondary characters.

Not $200 playsets as the only way to get a specific figure...

Heh, that's a whole 'nother can of worms. Those big sets, that absolutely don't move at full price, are ridiculous.

Agreed. There is one specific design for a Guard that only comes in an expensive playset. This infuriates me, and I end up not buying. Had them put the figure I wanted in a single package, they would have a sale.

Good. I always thought early September was far too early for merchandise to arrive when the film has a mid December release date. makes complete sense.

That is definitely Aurebesh on the helmet. Someone on reddit started translating it.

So if the costume designer says it isn't, a random person on reddit is the authority?

Maybe they are thinking its similar to English and Spanish. Same alphabet, but different language. Perhaps the designer thought aurabesh was a language? I could see someone not really caring about the backstory, and just taking the cool tools to design stuff. Those symbols look like Aurabesh to me.

I was speaking in general about how the recent toylines haven’t been very creative. TFA had a Poe with a yellow visor for a face and the Poe with a removable helmet only came with a flimsy winged X-Wing. Then that same removable helmet Poe was in the TLJ line.

    TLJ line also had:
    - another Jyn Erso
    - AoTC R2-D2
    - Ben Kenobi
    - The same Rey from TFA with a terrible plastic cloak

Meanwhile - no Holdo, No Kaydel Ko Connix, no Snoke, no casino characters, no droids, no aliens, and so on.

Sorry, that became a rant. But it’s true

It is true. If the TLJ came out ten or twelve years ago, we would probably have figures of all the casino patrons by now.

Nice! So going by that pic of the Falcon it does look like the front detaches to look more like the Falcon we know. So it's probably for cargo or as someone said the other day maybe Lando's wardrobe. :p

Why has the Range Trooper got Transformers feet, and why does the Qi'Ra figure look like she's wearing a wig?

The Range Trooper could use his boots for latching onto the Conveyex somehow? Seems that hinge pushes up to bring the 'U' shaped thing down?? Maybe even repulsors? They seem too complicated to just keep his feet warm.
