Revenger was one of the more interesting things I've read. It is generally described as steampunk space and though I see why it's not entirely accurate.

I don't have a space book lined up though I am considering more Reynolds. For now I shall skim bits of The Ouroboros Wave.

Lost Stars by Claudia Gray

 

Coming down the home stretch w/Pierce Brown's Iron Gold (Good, if not quite at the level of the previous three) and I'm thinking about what to read next. I have three cued up and I'd be grateful for suggestions if you're familiar w/them.

Brandon Sanderson's The Way of Kings, which is breathlessly praised but also roughly the size of the Hong Kong white pages. Michael J. Sullivan's The Age of Myth, also well regarded, half the length (though the opening of a five part series) and still scratching that high fantasy itch. And Cibola Burn by James S.A. Corey, 4th in a series I've quite enjoyed and the safe bet/fallback option.

 

Just finished a quick read through of Star Wars Death Troopers by Joe Schreiber.

It's a horror/thriller and was a fun read.

I don't want to spoil it for anyone interested-but the pace builds up quickly to the climax, the action is good, and plot as well. I enjoyed the characters also.

 

Up Ship! by Charles Rosendahl, 1931. The author was probably the best-known American zeppelin flyer, the senior surviving officer of the wreck of the USS Shenandoah, CO of the USS Los Angeles, and invited as an observer aboard the Graf Zeppelin for Hugo Eckener's famous around-the-world flight. I thought it was a fascinating first-person perspective on the history of the airship, and the author's optimism is palpable. Knowing about the tragedies that followed this book's publication gives it a sad sense of an age of innocence lost.

I just read this,

it was really good, easy read and very spiritual because Mariano is a Christian and a lot of details about his playing days and the pictures in the middle are classic I love the one of him in stone washed jeans in the early 90's!

Definitely one of the better EU novels I've read (though no longer canon). Very atmospheric. Strong characters. I'd like to see more SW media (novels, games) in the horror vein.

 

Did you read Red Harvest? It could be seen as a prequel to Death Troopers, explaining the origins of the plague/virus albeit taking place 3000+ years earlier.

 

I haven't yet. I was excited when it was announced, as I'd really enjoyed Death Troopers, but I let myself be influenced by some less than glowing reviews and ended up skipping it. I did end up reading Schreiber's other SW novel Maul: Lockdown, and remember liking it okay.

I'm always adding to my list for future reads, so I'll put Red Harvest in my "maybe" pile.

 

Have been reading the Rebel Force series by Alex Wheeler.
Just finished the third book, Renegade

It's nice seeing Luke's old friends from the ANH deleted scenes. Han and Leia do too much arguing in these books, so it was nice that they were separated for the majority of this novel. Really enjoyed Han and Chewbacca in this one, too. This one was probably my favorite, even though Tatooine's been done to death.
