ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh for the record that's not my quote? It's not like I disagree with the quote, but I don't say "Ugh." I say "Argh." I've been very consistent about this over the years and I'm greatly offended that anyone would deign to think otherwise and confuse me with Jeff Ferby.[face_not_talking]

I know something similar was done in Legends with Jacen Solo's kid but Kylo could totally have a kid that we just haven't seen or heard about (or have one off screen in between the films), potential for the Skywalker line to continue since he's all bad and stuff.

Fun fact: I can't find it but Adam Driver totally asked Rian Johnson if Ben was a virgin (he thought it was legit important to his character). I believe Johnson said there must have been some nights at the Jedi Temple where he played "spin the lightsaber".

I was thinking more along the lines of showing up after the battle, hopefully with the Resistance having too many people to fit into just the Falcon. I wasn't a fan of the idea of them putting Leia's name out there and literally no one coming; Lando arriving a little late to rescue them could have allowed the heroes their moment of despair but still kept a little hope alive in the end. And Lando showing up just before the credits would have been a cool cliffhanger, too.

Okay, I think I could go for this. I can see why they might not have wanted to - it would have distracted from the themes of the ending quite a bit - but I think that would have been easier to work through than anywhere else in the movie.

    Now there’s an image I didn’t need. :p

I would say the response is “Yes, because he couldn’t stop whining long enough to get laid,” but...Anakin had sex sometime between AOTC and ROTS so that argument doesn’t work.

Well, did he necessarily? As far as we know, given his own life and the fact that the Jedi teach abstinence-only sex-ed, he may just assume that women spontaneously become pregnant with no father....

I don’t know, man. Vader telling Luke that, “No. Rush Clovis is your father” doesn’t quite have the same emotional resonance.

I don’t view DJ as a villain. He’s a realist someone who plays both sides for survival. Or maybe just someone who doesn’t feel like taking sides matters because in the grand scheme of things it’s not personally affecting his character at the moment. Kinda like people in today’s world. It’s not affecting me why should I even care/vote. It’s always been like this, things won’t change, I’m worried about me and not the big picture, etc. His character was set to show you the Star Wars galaxy is more than just good guys vs bad guys. It’s more complicated than that. Foreshadowing that in episode IX be careful who trust. I also have a theory that DJ was the master code breaker to begin with. He probably just lost the red plume to the guy at the casino when he was gambling. Whether it was a coincidence or “the force” , but yea DJ was who Maz wanted them to find to begin with I believe.

    Ah, here's the quote!

    http://www.latimes.com/entertainmen...rs-last-jedi-spoilers-20171218-htmlstory.html

So … is this the first time Kylo has ever held hands with a girl?
I actually talked about that with Adam [Driver]. Adam was like, “So … have I actually kissed a girl before?” I would think maybe he has. Maybe after hours in the Jedi camp, there was a game of spin the bottle — “spin the lightsaber…”

(note Johnson says "Maybe" and Driver had to ask so possibly unsure! But, c'mon, some comely First Order lady must have given him a come hither look. But, yah, something off the grid at the Jedi camp while Master Luke was grumbling or whatever)

If we're being honest about it... there is clearly a reason that Lando hasn't been in these movies which we are not privy to. I mean, there absolutely is. They haven't just 'forgotten' about him, quite obviously, given he was used in Rebels and will be a prominent character in Solo. You don't bring back Nien Nunb, Ackbar and even ask Wedge Antilles back and 'forget' about Lando. I don't know if it's related to Billy Dee in some way, but I would bet a lot of money that we will find out the full story in a few years.

That's the problem imo, the "themes" were so poorly-conceived and badly executed that it kills the ending anyway. Not to mention the logical issues in-general.

I don't want to speak ill, but I saw him about a year ago at a convention and... I dunno. I can't help but feel like we lost Carrie in part due to the strain "getting in fighting shape" put on her body, and Williams is a full twenty years older than her. Sitting on a stage talking to an audience seemed to take a lot out of him, let alone the demands of shooting a film. I dunno, again, I am not trying to speak ill, just being realistic about what happens to humans as we age.

Yeah I understand. I wonder they couldn't just have a cameo, with Lando calling in the Republic promising to send help or whatever. They shouldn't force Billy to get thin, I think fans would understand. No one complained about Scotty on Star Trek in the 80s films.

They could shoot near his home, much like Peter Jackson accommodated aging Christopher Lee for Hobbit Saruman scenes.

Can he toss his cape like that in the next movie? Certainly he's capable of tossing his cape. I mean that would be a total "aw ****" moment for poor Kylo.

If by "ROTJ Jabba" you thought I was referring to his weight, then I apologize for not being more clear. I just mean his physical health in general. Like you said, that was four years ago, and he injured himself during the third week of the show and had to withdraw from competition. I just... Yes it would be nice for him to appear, I just want people to temper their hopes because there are practical reasons why it might not happen.

I meant more in terms of mobility than weight. If he's A New Hope Special Edition Jabba at the very least, I'd say he's a go.

He doesn't have to do much. Just sitting in a captain's chair like Holdo did and giving Kylo and Hux the verbal smackdown they deserve is enough. And also... depending on what they do with Leia's character, someone's got to say some words in the finale for the Big Three. Someone who knew them well.:(

I actually buy the argument that "No room for Lando in TFA/TLJ story" arguments, call me naive but in TFA would they make him a random General who talks about SKB? Guy who gets blown up on Honsian Prime? Not really. And, as mentioned before, since TLJ takes off from TFA's ending, it'd be a bit of "hey, apropos of nothing, here's Lando." So I'm still holding out hope for saving the Lando for last. the fact he's (probably) going to be the biggest and still alive OT character in Episode IX kicks it up a notch to likely. Probably. Hopefully.
