Wow, fantastic creature designs. Again. The new films have really delivered the goods in terms of creatures and aliens. Long may it continue. Although, you know, the odd Rodian or Ithorian would be welcome. I hope that goat-headed guy is seen in the film. The little white fuzzball might be one of my favourite ones yet.

Are those the cloud riders? The other 3 are pretty cool looking aliens. Middle one kinda resembles a Nikto

 

They're definitely the Cloud Riders. Just compare them to the other shot we have. Warwick is the 6th from the left.

 

Kitster was clearly a bad influence.

 

Is that aliens to the left of the last photo a Gabdorin? Could even be Quiggold himself

 

The bottom photo? I’d love it if it were but he appears to have head plumage and from the profile his face seems to form a beak like appearance

It is. I didn’t have the heart to change his production name, that was perfect.

I like the old throwback approach to names but geez haha

Granted Hammerhead, Walrus man and Snaggletooth all got real names and fleshed out backstories so I suppose I shouldn’t fret

 

I think this could usher in a new golden age of Star Wars background aliens that sound like Dick Tracy villains.

 

I love the fact that Hammerhead was "canonized" somewhat. Boba Fett calls an Ithorian it in the Marvel comics. I suppose it’s a kind of racial slur.

 

Almost all the Kenner names are considered racial slurs, which is awesome and a hilarious in-joke.

My personal favorite though was from the Princess Leia book “operation yellow moon” (or something along those lines) - a dresselian called a cerean a conehead and in return she called him a prune face. Just marvelous

I think these ridiculous nicknames work especially well for underground characters. You know, like mafia nicknames. Sammy the Bull. Johnny Short Legs. Frankie Car Wash.

They can also have real names. No reason canon can’t accomodate both.

 

Tam Posla - I wonder what his purpose is in this film... He is one of Saws rebels in RO (re-purposed from his original intention I would say) ...so is he a bounty hunter? A soldier for hire? This has to take place before RO

 

According to the Rogue One visual guide he is a lawman. A private Marshall of sorts. Technically he was out of his jurisdiction on Jedha. Maybe Vandor is within his zone

 

Tam... if you take his VG bio plus his repurposed actual appearance plus his canonical portrayal in the DR. APHRA comic together, you get.. confused. But that may be just standard issue Milvayne Authority armor we're seeing in SOLO...
