Perfect age to be Rey’s mom, but I really don’t think so because 1. The casting code name and 2. REALLY think mom is long dead no matter what.

 

Report also says JJ has been writing the script with Larry Kasdan...

 

Could be a young Leia for a flashback, maybe.

You don’t cast Keri Russell for a flashback.

 

I was commenting based on what I see as a physical resemblance, but if it's already been confirmed otherwise then okay.

So are you saying it wouldn't be a flashback if she played Rey's mom?

 

Two new actors? Male additions? Hopefully some new villains to play two of the KoR.

Hopefully Keri appears more than just in a flashback. She is more or less in the middle of the OT and ST cast in terms of age. She is 16 years older than Daisy, 25 years younger than Mark and 20 years younger than Carrie.

 

My off the deep end prediction?

Ahsoka.

 

Ahsoka would be well older than either Luke or Leia at this point, so I’d say she’s too young. Maybe one of the Knights of Ren, if it’s an action heavy role?

 

Cool, she's awesome. Hopefully they give her a big role (a villain perhaps)?

 

Not sure if Keri has a Twitter account, but if so, enjoy it while it lasts....

 

Probably the "Mara" role. Though I don`t think Mara Jade, I think that was a codename.

Maybe one of the KOR. Noone said they were all men.

The one thing I would count out is recast Leia for ep 9. They would have cast older then.

I didn't believe Kylo about Rey's parents for a millisecond. As for Rey's confirming it I don't think she was thinking very clearly at that moment. It wouldn't be the first time a star wars character has lied. I think it could be very possible Keri Is playing Rey's Mom, Do we know If this casting news Is for real? who Is reporting It? oh Variety they are pretty good.

 

Maybe a featured Knight of Ren, unmasked and with more dialog that the rest, like Kylo's second in command. They don't all have to be men.

Russell can definitely fight on screen, and with Phasma unlikely to return, we need another female baddie in the mix.

I hope the KoR are in IX.

 

Kylo and Hux also lack credibility as villains right now (imo). So having a truly fearsome baddie would be nice. Also these films seem allergic to having females in prominent villain roles (no Phasma doesn't count BTW), and it's high time that that changes.

And Keri's proven her badass credentials already in stuff like The Americans.

 

I believe a rumor existed for the casting of a female that required fitness for action scenes some time ago and this would be it. Also a younger female role (20 yrs) and also a child.
