Solo Favorite Scene in Solo

I loved how they brought the Maw into cannon. It was how pictured it when I first read out it 20 years ago.

Seeing coreallia was pretty good too.

Loved all the nods to the old EU and how they kept Hans back story loosely based on it.

 

There's a lot to choose, and I just can't pick only one.
So, here's a few:
- All of Mimban, great stuff there;
- The group talking by the fire in Vandor and the Train heist after that;
- Lando and Han playing Sabacc;
- Breakout from Kessel;
- Kessel Run;
- Han shooting first against Beckett, I love that he runs to stand by his side while he dies.

BUt my all time favorites are probably more character driven moments with Han and Chewie, but also Lando and Beckett.

Very happy with this movie, I'm really glad they made it.

 

After much thought, I'm beginning to think the Boba Fett movie is going to be the "sequel" to Solo. Focusing on their time working for Jabba. Which could be really cool. Focus on Fett, but with a lot of Han and Lando screen time. Can't forget the other notorious bounty hunters as well. Maybe even resolve Cad Bane's story.

 

The Sabacc game between Han and Lando after Han found him, at the end of the film. Han out-witted Lando and won the Falcon.

 

This is a completely appropriate way to handle any residual inputs to Han/Lando bond and Han/Chewy bond, in the age of Marvel. That's all that's really missing, to a degree that's noticeable if you pay attention to what is being implied in ESB when they meet back up. In ESB Lando referred to Fett as 'the bounty hunter', so he might not have known who Boba Fett was.
I'm not clear how we're supposed to root for Boba Fett as a lead, when we know he finds an ignominious death in ROTJ. Conflict between syndicates? One syndicate is less naughty than another?

 

Definitely a highlight for me. Eerie space moments are uncommon in SW, but I love them.

 

I like the scene where he gets in the train/shuttle and Qi'ra's on the other side. Can anyone explain why Lando and Qi'ra are wearing practically the same thing on the poster?

 

I loved when they fly off from Mimban, and you get that view of the battle going on below. Explosions and a gunship zapping lasers.
Escaping a hell.

 

Huh? I don’t think that happened.

 

Don't know if I would call it a scene but I loved the entire sequence on Corellia. It was cool to see a different side to Solo and see him as a careless teenager with a case of puppy love. It reminded of the Young Indiana Jones series and I might be in the minority on this but I thought that series was great.

Honorable mention to Mimban.

 

Corellia was great. Can't wait to see more of it in the deleted scenes!

 

Really liked the train sequence, especially the Enfys Nest/Beckett fight.
I like the idea that a lot of heists probably go that way - the best laid plans fall apart and nobody winds up with anything except some companions to bury/mourn.

On my second viewing, the initial battle when Han's enlisted was my favorite part. The fog of war is more apparent there than anything I've ever seen in Star Wars. That seems like the true Imperial Navy, just slogging your way through miserable conditions, can barely see anything, all to obtain some objective that from a first-person view has no relevance whatsoever.

Favorite scene remains Lando telling his own story into the holoprojector. So Lando.

 

All Val's scenes. A quite brilliant character, and a mesmerizing, but WAY too short performance by Thandie.

 

The droid revolt. There's a compact gonk looking droid stomping over a console that makes me laugh every time.

They definitely shoulda rewrote it to keep her alive. That her 'death' was some way of conning Han, then she turns up again at the end. Big mistake to actually kill her off.

 

I think the scene being mentioned is when Han and Qi'ra get separated at the checkpoint.

 

Ill add Han meeting Chewie for the first time. There's our top three!

 

I checked my initial list, I forgot to add the look on Han's face the first time he sees the Millenium Falcon. The music right at that moment just gives me the biggest set of goosebumps ever.

 

The Kessel Run, of course.

 

At the spaceport, yeah. His acting is phenomenal in it.

Other than the 'big cameo' scene, I really like the 'bubble' explosion of the Coaxium at the end of the train heist. Was a very striking visual.

I also like that one shot showing the Star Destroyer comm towers being craned into position during the Corellia chase, had a great sense of scale.

 

Agreed, that was very well done as well. Considering how critical this moment is for the SW lore, they have done a fine job. We always heard about the Wookie strenght, but before Solo we never saw that in action.
