I have a new favorite hobby IRL. Calling those youger than me "old."

 

Was out on errands yesterday and got caught in a monsoon. When I got home, I lost power for about 40 minutes. That was bearable at least. During Superstorm Sandy, I had lost power for 14 straight days. Not fun.

 

Morning everyone

 

Me during power outage: "Huh. I'll read a book by candlelight."
My kids: "AAAAHHH! How am I going to play Roblox?? Dad, what did you do?!?"

 

For me it depends on how long I'm without power, as far as what I'll be doing. It was still daylight at the time yesterday, so I just read the newspaper (remember those?) and ate some nachos. There's been times when I'm out for a full day, so maybe I'd get out the Scrabble, Monopoly, or Trivial Pursuit boards and play with the family for awhile. After Sandy hit and we were without power for a couple weeks, I'd go into work (of course Manhattan was hardly affected since the grid is all underground) and come home to go out to dinner and then to the library for a few hours. The library got power relatively quickly after the storm, so most of the town was in there.

 

3 days to go before I have been at EasterSeals for 4 months!

Anyway I am almost done getting to rank 50 on Battlefront 2. I know it was a really random goal to set, but I shall complete it.

 

...It's not that random of a goal... It's not like you're trying to collect Nemo stickers or use 1700 tissues in three days... at least it's somewhat related to the purpose of these forums

 

I wonder how many trees you would kill trying to do the tissue goal.

Hahaha, I'm pretty short, and have this friend who's younger, but taller so I call her old

 

Ellie is younger than me and taller. But I don't call her old. I call her my baby sister

 

My sister is taller too, everyone thinks she's older, but nope!
