    Yeah, I actually started reading the JC on Labor Day weekend of 1998. That's when I got a shiny new Bondi-Blue iMac. I didn't register and post until mid-December. The registration date in my profile is incorrect. On one the board migrations many years ago, several users' registration dates got reset. Mine says 12:00 AM on Dec. 31. I think it was the migration from Snowboards, and I think it mainly affected '98 and '99 registrations (but not all of them). Was it a Y2K thing? Or maybe because I had a space in my name? Who knows. Anyhow, I'm not sure if this is true anymore, but admins could see not only date, but also time of registration, just like a post. (Maybe managers too? Heck maybe regular users could also see it in their profile.) But a lot of them defaulted to 12:00 AM. I don't recall if the dates were all the final day of the month though, I don't think so.

    That didn't affect me, apparently.

    So I know I don't really post over here that much, but I had to share: I was at a local thrift store this weekend and picked up excellent condition copies of the Original Trilogy 1997 RCA release, 1st edition with the holographic discs and liner notes. 1 USD for the set. I was like a kid in a candy store to say the least.

    =D=

    Wow, only one dollar?! That's a great set for completeness, sequencing, booklets and packaging. The 1993 Anthology is sonically superior for many tracks, but any fan of John Williams' Star Wars scores needs to own both.

    As punishment for discussing film score in the Tavern, I will now listen to "Jedi Rocks". Or maybe not. You have no way of knowing that I'm not really listening to "Cantina Band" instead. [face_devil]

    Yeah I couldn’t believe it. They were marked at $0.49 apiece but at the register he said just give him a dollar. My thrift store senses had gone off too, they were just sitting there on the floor and I had walked past them initially...

    And my apologies! I didn’t know if it was worth making a whole thread and didn’t know where to bring it up.

    But to quickly break the rules further: I need to get my hands on a real copy of that Anthology, I have it digitally but need that physical set.

    Nah, it's fine. Just an old joke about discussing "on-topic" in the social thread. These days, it's so slow it doesn't matter anyhow. It's great to see new faces in here!

    Awesome! I have all three of those from back in the day. It's great to see someone score such a deal.

    I mean it is. But it will take some time, as Yoda and the Younglings is like 15 plays ahead of anything else.

    Happy Seasonal Lag Day! Today (January 21) has the lowest average high temperature for the part of North America where I live. So now not only are the days getting longer, the average temps start to rise as well. But it's still a long haul to the vernal equinox.

    //puts "Reminiscence Therapy" on jukebox

    //is reminded now to play some Hoth score today...

    //puts "The Battle Of Hoth" next in the cue

    We've had the most mild winter ever. No snow, no ice, barely anything below freezing. Just rain and fog.

    It's been snowing here since yesterday afternoon. Probably will end up being a total of 4-6". Then bitter cold for the next week with temperatures mostly below 0º F. I'd better remember to bring the Tauntaun in.

    I'm just getting over a chest cold too. Glad it's not super cold or anything right now. We did have high winds and heavy rains last night...

    Try 55C. I had to work on big aluminum airplanes parked in that sun all day in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Just brutal.
