Solo Favorite Scene in Solo

I liked the arrival at Kessel. The route through the Akkadese Maelstrom formed like a tunnel lit by beacons. Not only did it appeal to my love of the whimsical, but it neatly answered that forty year question about the parsec thing.

 

If I just have to pick only one scene, probably when When Han met Chewie!

 

Train Heist for sure. Matter of fact, Vandor in general. That's where the movie for me really found its ground.

Loved Rio and Val, was sad to see them die.
And I loved the skirmish between Beckett's crew and the Cloud Riders.

 

The spaceport scenes. I love everything about that setting, and the drama that occurred there.

 

Same here. I loved all of Vandor.

 

The Kessel Run was great too, but I mean, come on. IMO, it's not even close!

 

Favorite scene: Han and Chewie standing outside on the ship, getting to know each other for the first time. Han hearing the name Chewbacca for the first time. Really nice moment between them.

Runners up: Kessel Run, First time Han stands in the Falcon cockpit and watches as it goes into lightspeed, the moment Chewie takes the co-pilot seat.

 

I love how this shot harkens back to ANH:



"I've outrun Imperial starships, not the local bulk-cruisers, mind you. I'm talking about the big Corellian ships."

 

- I hate you.
- I know.

That whole scene is pure gold

 

I love the musical homage to Jerry Goldsmith as they first enter the Maelstrom. The music is so Star Trek.

 

Hard to pick one scene because I enjoyed the entire movie. I guess I would say the final showdown/reveal when Han's plan is revealed and the Enfys Nest attack bit. That whole sequence is great.

 

I could frame this shot and hang it on my wall. Gorgeous.

 

I watched it again today.

A tie —
Val’s last line —- “it’s been a ride babe. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.” How i aspire to look back on my life when it’s my time.

And L3 and Qi’ra’s girl talk.
Easily.

But I do love the small scene on Kessel after they arrive, when Han and Chewie are being taken away — he looks down at his hands and sees his dice and you hear the main Star Wars theme played on/with chimes.

 

The train heist is #1.

Meeting Lando is #2.

 

How the poor guarding droid (from ANH with the insectoid face) at the Corellia Spaceport got run over...

 

Han’s speeder getting stuck was classic Star Wars humor.

It also factored in well during the Kessell Run escape.

It doesn’t take much to destroy those things.

 

Underrated part of Solo: its "opening crawl" is very good and better than TFA or TLJ's.

 

Every scene with Thandie Newton.God i love that woman! Such a shame they killed her off so soon.

 

Probably Han and Qi'ra in Lando's cape closet. I even love that they took advice from George Lucas, because his advice to have Han be sloppy was terrific.

Mostly though, I think I have favorite moments or lines. Not necessarily always scenes.

 

Everything up until the end of the train heist with the pointless suicide was good

Enfys was good until she took off her helmet and literally shrank two feet

The Falcon scenes were wonderful, if horribly poorly lit

Lando was a delight

 

I love it at the end when they remove the helmet of Enfys Nest, only to find an elderly woman, but then the real Enfys Nest jumps down and strikes the ground with her weapon and sends people flying.

 

I love it when Han shoots first. I love that it refutes the change made in the Special Editions and I love how surprised Chewie is.

 

Train sequence - one of the best action sequences in Star Wars, period.
Kessel run - great visuals, exciting scenes

Lots of other great little scenes in this film. It deserved to do way better at the box office.
