is there a way around this? When I block people I'm pretty happy having wiped them out from all time and space as I don't see their posts but if someone I've blocked hits "like" on a post I can still see their username. I would prefer it if we can't see their name at all, ever. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

A couple of people posted that on the Xenforo forums but it doesn't look like there is currently any way to do that.

gosh darn it. Well, thanks anyway. I guess the Infinity Gauntlet of the block button does have some limitations after all...

There were suggestions of how to do it by altering code. Problem with that is a) you have to document it because b) next time you upgrade the change will probably be wiped out. Hopefully they will make it a feature in a future release.

Just make a post who you are blocking atm. I bet you do not get any more likes from them afterwards

They kindly "like" your posts while you block theirs.

And, somehow, they're the terrible person in the relationship...

Nah, I don't care if they like my posts, I can still see people I've blocked like other people's posts. That's the irritating part, I want them gone from existence forever hahahahah

You can't expunge irritants from your life, here at least you can "sanitise" your feed should you wish but they are still there

You can't see their posts. That should be more than sufficient. The existance of a name and worrying about whether or not you see a name is IMO petty and slightly pathetic, even more so if it's wanted purely for the mwahahaha's

This is another reason why the ignore feature is a bad idea IMHO

I support the ignore button, but this is a tiny issue. You're just gonna have to deal with it, Al.

This thread was a tactical mistake, btw. You may want to ask a mod to close it before it gets worse.

Nah, I like it here and I love the ignore button, one of my favourite inventions in the history of the Internet. The fact you can still see the users names when they like something seems like a defect in the board system, though.

Wait, are you talking about when they like something of yours, or when they like something in general?

You might be on his ignore list, so when you post something you should as well like one of his posts [face_party]

I think the issue is that some people don't want to see their name (You) next to a person they have blocked if they like the same post. Maybe they even choose not to like a post just because the blocked person already has, to avoid seeing..... "You and BlockyMcBlockface like this".

My posts get likes now and then, so I'm not on it....yet. ;)

Its just a legit glitch in the ignore function on the boards so brought it up here. I don't see people I've blocked or get notifications if they like my posts, which is great cuz it's all working. But I can still see the username if they either like my or anyone else's posts. Total and complete disappearance is the ideal function of the ignore list option, hopefully. I don't really use a twitters but what happens when you ignore someone on twitters can you still see them react to postings, etc. etc. Ain't a dealbreaker, just a thing.
