Animated Shorts Official Star Wars: Forces of Destiny Discussion Thread

Well besides holorecordings and the rather obscure theory that she could remember her mother's face as a newborn; there is the theory that she sees her through the Force. I think it's all speculation at this point. The only thing that Lucas himself confirmed was that she was talking about her biological mother.

Edit: Eh, on second thought, this is ridiculous.

 

Perhaps she was awoken to consciousness in the womb, because of her connection to the Force.

 

The latest volume of Forces of Destiny has some interesting scenes of Maz's camp in between batches of episodes. Maz has what looks like a Jedi Holocron with the points taken off.

There's also a few "easter eggs" in her camp - Twi'lek Ark, Staff of Ra, what looks like stylised representations of the boxed sets of Book of Sith, Jedi Path, and Bounty Hunter's Code, and so forth.

 

I wonder if that was Chewy's elusive medal at the end Maz is quite the hoarder. Jedi and Sith holocrons, the Staff of Ra, the holy grail...

 

Also, near the medal on the ground, is a model of an orange vehicle which looks like a landspeeder concept model made for ANH by Colin Cantwell.

 

I wish FOD would get some commentary by creators either on the OS or YouTube, like TCW and Rebels had.

 

That would be interesting, perhaps they're saving that type of content for a release on disc.

 

I'm so far behind on these shorts, and I seem to be out of the loop on when they come out and/or broadcast on TV. So far Ive only seen volumes 1 and 3... missed 2 and 4.

 

You can always just go to the Disney YouTube channel where they have all the shorts.

When is the next batch of episodes supposed to come out?

 

Now that's something I'd like to see as well. For the record, the comics confirm that Leia does have visions of Padme, and likely mistakes them for old memories.

 

Will there be more? I watched a bunch yesterday, and I want more.

Pity. I haven't lack of interest in animated or short-form SW. I watched '03 CW yesterday, too. I mean, Forces of Destiny is on Disney's channel. I can watch hours of Disney shorts. Star Wars has its own Goofy, Mickey and Pluto, Chip and Dale, Donald and Daisy, etc. How about more SW shorts?

 

I think they're waiting for the streaming service to become available and then you'll probably see all kinds of SW related shorts.

 

What would you guys like the be shown in the next season of Forces of Destiny?

 

More Jyn Erso.

 

More Leia. I loved her episode with Luke and the Ewoks. Ideally, I'd like to see her other adventures, that might not be directly tied to the movies.

 

I'd like to see something with Ventress.

 

I just watched CW, so how about Luminara and pre-crazy Barriss?



Some Jedi. Jocasta! Aayla, Adi, Stass, Shaak Ti, um, Yaddle. Hmm. Shmi and Beru. Satine and Bo. Maybe Chuchi, the Papanoidas, Holdo, or Mon Mothma. Oh, Mina Bonteri! Senator Leia, General Leia, or how about young Leia and Breha? Little Sabine and Ursa!

I def want to see young Hera rescuing Chopper.

One FOD short that would certainly make my day would be seeing a young Numa, having been influenced by the courage of the clones she befriended, shadowing Cham in the hopes that one day she could join the resistance.
