On a Little Mermaid note, I can sing practically every line of Part if Your World from memory, used to listen to it loads as a kid


And when we were doing 'try not to sing' Disney vids the other day we watched Poor Unfortunate Souls, of which I had zero memory from my single viewing of Mermaid years ago. Was like discovering it for the first time, it's got a weird rhythm to it.

 

oh gosh, i almost forgot...since i plan to be away for a while, i wanted to give the thread a "see you later" kiss goodbye!

thx! haven't had a chance to go shopping for the bike yet, but it will be sometime this month (hopefully soon enough to take advantage of the typical sales prices you see on fitness stuff around this time). i want to try out the in-store models at two places before buying...

Ooh, we doing Pocahontas now too? I love the music from that movie Seriously, I'm gonna gush for a bit, Alan Menken'a score for this is phenomenal (and sadly the only one I like with a full Legacy release).

Just Around the River Bend made me literally tear up the first time I actually watched the film, cause I'd listened to and loved it for years beforehand


All the other songs are great too, the dual Virginia Company/Beating Drum opening, the comedic, sweeping, double-layered Mine Mine Mine, the over the top madness that is Savages, Colors of the Wind of course is so memorable, and even the cut If I Never Knew You is really beautiful.

The way Menken so seamlessly weaves the themes together in the incidental music is admirable as well, juggling loads of little melodic motifs throughout. Seriously, it's gotta be a top 10 soundtrack for me.

Gosh, I could go on about the music to that film for hours, it enriches the movie so much
